Job summary

Capco, a Wipro company, is seeking a Sr. Java Backend developer (5-7 years) in Chennai. You will work on Java/J2EE projects, employing Spring, Hibernate and Oracle SQL/PL/SQL to deliver robust backend services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+ and J2EE.
• Experience with Spring and Hibernate.
• Oracle SQL and PL/SQL proficiency required.
• Experience with Bitbucket, JUnit and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Study user requirements, develop specifications, design, code, test and implement systems per group standards.
• Handle development/design projects using Java, J2EE, Oracle, Spring, Hibernate; DevOps tools (Jenkins), Build Tool (Maven).
• Ensure thorough unit test coverage (JUnit).
• Perform estimation and planning with proactive status reporting to management in Paris/India/ISPL.
• Follow project best practices and quality processes; work independently and mentor juniors.

Job Description:

Job Title: Sr. Java Backend developer (5-7 years) Chennai

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

• Study user requirement, develop specifications, design, code program, test and implement systems in line with Group standards and regulatory requirements IN ORDER TO meet user (business) requirements.
• Handle development/design projects using Java, J2EE, Oracle, Spring, Hibernate, DevOps tools (Jenkins ) , Build Tool (Maven)
• Ensure thorough Unit test case coverage (Junit)
• Perform Estimation and Planning and Proactive Status reporting to the management at both Paris/India and ISPL ends
• Follow all the best practices and quality process of the project
• Work independently on the task assigned and if possible, also train other team members and Jr. resources on functional and technical topics.

Contributing Responsibilities

• Contribute to hiring by conducting technical interviews in ISPL
• Contribute in Code reviews and maintaining the quality of the application.
• Develop programs in optimal manner without compromising core architecture/design
• Should Work as an individual contributor in the project and support developers / tester on different technical queries .
• Make thorough impact analysis – impact study, possible regressions , Better unit test coverage
• Contribute in creating technical documentation and maintain in repository
• Work on the technologies efficiently and produce best fit deliveries
