Job summary

Indihire Consultants is seeking an experienced Java software engineer to define microservices from an existing code base and drive end-to-end development, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate with QA and UI teams to debug issues and provide timely feedback to Scrum leads and product management.

The role requires strong Core Java knowledge (1.8+), experience with Spring MVC/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and building scalable microservices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing microservices in Java-based enterprise apps.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java (Collections, Strings, Annotations, Interfaces) and Java 1.8+ features.
• Proficiency with Servlet, Hibernate, Struts, JPA, Spring MVC, Spring Boot.
• Expertise in Microservices architecture, service mesh, and blue/green deployment strategies.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra; familiarity with Elasticache or similar caching.
• Ability to design and implement API management patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Hands-on with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket, Jira).
• Version control experience (Git, SVN); debugging API implementations reported by QA/UI teams.
• Willing to collaborate with on-site team for hand-over meetings (PST window).
• Familiarity with Reactive streams, Lambda expressions, and Stream API.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and team-player attitude.

Role & responsibilities

• Defining microservices from the existing code base
  • Build, Unit testing, and deployment activities
  • Closely interact with the QA team and UI team to debug issues
  • Provide timely feedback to Scrum leads and product management

Preferred candidate profile

Mandatory Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Microservices based Enterprise application development using Java.
  • Very good in Core Java (Collections, Strings, Annotations, Interfaces) and other basic concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with developing, debugging software in Java Ver 1.8 and above.
  • Hands-on with Servlet, Hibernate, Struts, JPA, Spring MVC, Spring Boot
  • Excellent in the development of Microservices, understanding, and implementation of Service Mesh, Blue/Green deployments, etc.
  • Experience in NoSQL databases like Document DB, Mongo DB, Cassandra, etc.
  • Experience in data caching and platforms like Elastic Cache
  • Enhancing the teams understanding of API management platforms, design standards, patterns, and best practices
  • Implement DevOps concepts, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket, Jira
  • Hands-on with version control and code repositories like Git, SVN, etc.
  • Ability to debug and solve API implementation issues reported by QA and UI teams.
  • Willing to participate in interacting with the on-site team in hand-over meetings (maximum of 60-90 minutes PST time).
• Good in new Java features like Reactive streams, Lambda expressions, Stream APIs
• Good knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills and team player attitude.

Nice to have:

• Ability to write relational queries and understand stored procedures (Oracle).
  • Understanding how to debug Microservices/APIs
  • Good in Cloud based Design patterns.
