Job summary

Publicis Sapient in Chennai is seeking a Manager Technology (Java) with extensive backend experience to lead SDLC activities and architectural alignment. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Java, Spring, microservices, and modern data stores, along with strong design skills and stakeholder communication.

The candidate should be adept at driving architecture reviews, cloud deployments (AWS/Azure), and CI/CD practices while guiding delivery within banking/fintech contexts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Java Backend development experience.
• Strong background in JAVA and Spring stack.
• Proficient in OOP and design patterns.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle); NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB) advantageous.
• Proven experience with building Microservices.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization.
• Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
• Knowledge of Cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiar with Test Driven Development.
• Agile / Kanban process experience.
• Effective communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage scope, timelines, quality and deliverables.
• Good communication skills; prior product engineering experience.
• Banking/Fintech domain knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements and translating them into designed modules.
• Identify and troubleshoot code-related issues.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure architecture compliance.
• Assist with design reviews and data flows.
• Collaborate in project planning sessions with PMs, BAs and team members to outline solutions.

Job description

Job Title: Manager Technology (Java)

Preferred: Candidates with immediate to 30-day notice period with Chennai location. Mandatory: One in-person (Face to face) interview round.

What we ask for:

1. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
2. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.
3. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre- defined architectural specifications.
4. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.
5. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Qualifications:

1. Candidates should have a minimum of 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Java Backend development (preferred immediate joiners or max 30days notice.)
2. Should have strong technical background in JAVA, Spring stack.
3. Well versed with OOPs concept and design patterns
4. Good understanding of data structure and algorithms
5. Strong experience with Database systems like RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle etc.) advantage NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB etc.)
6. Strong experience in building Microservices.
7. Knowledge of docker and containerization.
8. Should have good experience in using messaging platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
9. Knowledge in CI/CD Pipeline and Dev Ops tools
10. Knowledge in Cloud Services such as AWS or Azure
11. Should be familiar with Test Driven Development
12. Passionate and having depth knowledge in agile, Kanban process
13. Should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders
14. Manage scope, timelines, quality, goals and deliverables that supports business
15. Good communications skills
16. Prior work experience in the product engineering/development.
17. Good to have prior experience in Indian Banking segment and/or Fintech.

Education background:

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field of study
