Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst in Chennai to steer design, development, and delivery of large-scale systems. You will lead architecture-aligned programs, guide a globally distributed team, and drive high-impact projects across multiple business functions.

Role requires deep Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, security, and cross-region collaboration across LATAM, EMEA and ASPAC time zones.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of experience working on complex projects.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in leading globally distributed teams successfully
• Project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with high attention to minute details.
• Strong understanding of object oriented analysis and design, design patterns, high availability and concurrent programming.
• Demonstrated excellent software development skills. Strong experiences in implementation of Java, J2EE, Spring framework, AI Tools usage, Angular, React.
• Experience in building enterprise transaction-based systems with focus on recovery, stability, reliability, scalability and performance.
• Deep understanding of microservices/APIs using Spring Boot
• Experience in containerization
• Experience with service registry and service discovery (Eureka, API-Gateway)
• Experience with log visualization tools
• Hands on Test Driven Development (JUnit/Mockito)
• Experience in application security
• Designing complex applications in a microservices platform
• Experience in JMS/MQ, Unix/Linux/Win
• SOA and web services; ETL and Big Data concepts

Job description

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Deep understanding of and extensive experience in developing microservices/APIs using Spring Boot
  • Solid understanding and experience of integrating Web Services
  • Strong experience in JPA
  • Should have knowledge on Containerization
  • Experience in using the tools for service registry and service discovery (like Eureka, API-Gateway etc)
  • Experience in using the tools for log visualization
  • Hands on experience on Test Driven Development (Junit/Mockito/ etc)
  • Should have experience in application security
  • Should have experience in designing complex application in micro services platform.
  • Experience in building multithreaded applications and troubleshooting complex issues related to it.
  • Experience in working on JMS / MQ applications.
  • Experience in working multiple OS (Unix, Linux, Win)
  • Experience developing SOA and writing/consuming web services
  • Experience developing solutions involving ETL any Big Data concepts
  • Experience in performance tuning of large technical solutions with significant volumes
  • Experience with UI/web programming languages (such as JavaScript, JSP, Angular)
  • Strong Database experience (DB2/Oracle/SQL)
  • Understanding of internetworking concepts, firewall, communication protocols is a plus
  • Experience in using Open Source technology
  • Knowledge of Web security framework

Leadership Skills:

• Experience in tracking and running project in Agile.
• Experience of developing teams of permanent employees and vendors from 5 – 20 developers in size
• A good understanding of the credit card industry and functions of HSM and different types of keys.
• Requires Strong Stakeholder Management experience to drive discussions between Business, Solutions, Operations and Application Teams.
• Ability to build a comprehensive understanding of project stakeholders, subject matter, and priorities
• Leadership and strong communication skills
• Flexible to work across different Time zones supporting stakeholders across LATAM, EMEA and ASPAC regions.
