Job summary

James Douglas is seeking an enterprise technology leader to define and drive the architecture roadmap for a highly regulated capital markets environment in Mumbai. You will oversee strategy, application development, cybersecurity, and IT operations for mission-critical market systems such as risk, clearance, and settlement platforms.

Qualifications

• 18–25 years of experience in Capital Markets, Clearing Corporation Technology, BFSI, Financial Infrastructure, or related regulated tech environments.
• Strong understanding of risk, clearing, settlement, collateral systems, and financial market technology platforms.
• Proven experience in IT governance, technology strategy, stakeholder management, and regulatory reporting.
• Strong leadership with ability to work closely with business, compliance, risk, and technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the enterprise technology architecture roadmap aligned with business, regulatory, and operational priorities.
• Lead development and modernization of low-latency, high-throughput platforms across risk, clearing, settlement, collateral systems, APIs, and related applications.
• Own application development practices, SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering governance.
• Ensure high availability, fault-tolerant architecture, and zero-downtime operations for mission-critical platforms.
• Drive adoption of API-led architecture, microservices, cloud-native platforms, and scalable digital infrastructure.
• Lead IT operations across infrastructure, networks, data centres, service management, and operational excellence.
• Partner with business, compliance, risk, and regulatory stakeholders to deliver secure and compliant technology solutions.
• Lead modernization and platform transformation initiatives using emerging technologies, including AI.
