Job Description

Digital Engineering Solutions has an immediate opportunity for an individual capable of serving as an IT Project Manager. This role provides planning, design, coordination, and technical support to ensure the successful implementation of assigned projects (on time, on budget, within scope, and on benefit) following DES PM practices.

Job Requirements
  • Manage projects from initiation to closure, working with key stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to defined timelines, budget, and scope.
  • Work with project sponsors and stakeholders to complete project charters outlining key areas (i.e., scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budgets, and timing).
  • Work with project sponsors to define/adjust the budget as needed.
  • Responsible for managing and actively reporting on plan, budget, scope, resources, project decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Maintain and present project status to the PMO and major stakeholders, including steering committees.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel across the project team.
  • Where required, negotiate with functional managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Ensure project deliverables are complete, per DES PM guidelines, for each gate approval.
  • Assess project risks/issues and provide solutions as applicable.
  • Determine project changes and coordinate to get them implemented through a controlled process.
  • Ensure projects adhere to DES PM guidelines and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Commit forecast: provide allocations and track project recovery per fiscal quarters.
  • Identify project benefits/value and work with the sponsor/stakeholders to ensure the benefits will be realized post-delivery.
  • Contribute to process improvement through contributions to the PM Playbook, PM council, lessons learned, etc.
  • Provide a project wrap-up and marketing slide, and if appropriate, present the project overview to the DES leadership per the project closure review.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring delivery within defined timelines, budget, and scope.
  • Experienced in working with project sponsors and stakeholders to complete project charters and define project goals, deliverables, resources, budgets, and timing.
  • Adept at managing and reporting on project plans, budgets, scopes, resources, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Capable of delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel and negotiating with functional managers for the acquisition of required personnel.
  • Committed to process improvement through contributions to the PM Playbook, PM council.
Education/Experience
  • PMP or SCRUM Master certification (good to have)
  • Skilled in project management tools and software, including Microsoft Project or Planisware
  • Knowledgeable in software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
