IT Procurement Buyer Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and confident individual to join the IT Procurement team, supporting sourcing and supplier engagement across IT Software, Hardware, and IT Services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and is energized by driving discussions, solving challenges, and achieving strong commercial outcomes. Prior procurement experience is helpful however, what matters most is a demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence, and drive results.

Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management & Communication (Core Focus)
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to understand needs, priorities, and commercial objectives
  • Lead discussions to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and align on the best path forward
  • Act as a connector between stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring business needs are effectively translated into sourcing strategies and outcomes
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across the organization through clear, confident, and proactive communication
Sourcing & Supplier Engagement
  • Support sourcing initiatives across IT categories (software, hardware, and services)
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers aligned with stakeholder requirements and category strategies
  • Contribute to building and strengthening the supplier base
Negotiation & Commercial Ownership
  • Participate in and progressively lead supplier negotiations
  • Apply a competitive, results-oriented mindset to achieve strong commercial outcomes
  • Understand key cost drivers and support defining favorable terms, pricing, and value
Contracting & Process Execution
  • Support the development, review, and execution of supplier agreements
  • Ensure compliance with procurement processes, internal policies, and legal requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and sourcing records
Supplier Performance & Market Insight
  • Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Stay informed of market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing dynamics
Candidate Profile Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Early experience (1–3 years) in procurement, sourcing, sales, consulting, or any role involving negotiation or commercial decision-making
Key Capabilities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently lead conversations and influence stakeholders and suppliers
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements or managing commercial discussions
  • Ability to ask insightful questions, challenge constructively, and drive clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
