Job summary

Soaring Peaks Capital Services Private Limited in Mumbai is seeking a seasoned IT Infra & System Head to own the design, operation, and security of the firm’s IT backbone, including trading systems, network, servers, cloud, and end-user environments.

You will ensure high availability during market hours, manage exchange connectivity, strengthen cybersecurity, and drive regulatory compliance with SEBI and exchange requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and system administration, including leadership roles.
• Experience in Stock Broking or Financial Services is preferred.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, AWS/Azure, ITIL, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.

We are fast-growing stock broking start-up focused on building a robust and technology-driven trading platform. As part of our growth journey, we are looking to strengthen our Technology function with a senior leader to ensure a highly available, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure that supports our trading operations.

Role Overview

The IT Infra & System Head will own the design, operation, and security of the firm's entire IT infrastructure, including trading systems, network, servers, cloud, and end-user environments. The role involves ensuring high availability during market hours, managing exchange connectivity, strengthening cybersecurity, and ensuring compliance with SEBI and exchange requirements. The candidate will lead the infrastructure team and work closely with the Technology, Compliance, and Operations teams to build a resilient and future-ready technology backbone.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

• Lead the planning, deployment, and management of servers, network, storage, cloud, and data center infrastructure.
• Ensure optimal performance, capacity planning, and scalability of systems to support growth in clients and trading volumes.
• Oversee patching, upgrades, monitoring, and lifecycle management of all hardware, software, and systems.

Trading Infrastructure & Uptime

• Ensure maximum availability and low latency of the trading platform, order management, and risk management systems during market hours.
• Manage exchange connectivity, leased lines, and network links with NSE, BSE, and other market infrastructure institutions.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis, and ensure quick resolution of critical outages.

Information Security & Cybersecurity

• Define and implement the information security framework covering firewalls, endpoint security, access controls, and data protection.
• Conduct periodic Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Manage security monitoring and incident response to protect systems and client data from cyber threats.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

• Design, maintain, and test the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setup.
• Conduct DR drills as mandated by exchanges and regulators, and ensure defined RTO and RPO are met.
• Maintain backup, replication, and recovery processes for critical systems and data.

Regulatory Compliance & Audit

• Ensure IT systems and processes comply with SEBI cybersecurity and cyber resilience framework, exchange circulars, and data protection requirements.
• Coordinate system audits, cybersecurity audits, and regulatory inspections, and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Work with the Compliance team on IT-related reporting, policies, and documentation.

Vendor, Team & Budget Management

• Lead, mentor, and build the infrastructure, system administration, and IT support team.
• Manage vendors, AMCs, and SLAs for hardware, networks, cloud, and security services.
• Plan and control the IT infrastructure budget with a focus on cost optimization and long-term technology roadmap.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and system administration, including at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the Stock Broking or Financial Services industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of trading infrastructure, exchange connectivity, and market-hours support requirements.
• Hands-on expertise in networking, Linux/Windows servers, virtualization, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, SEBI cyber resilience requirements, and BCP/DR practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, AWS/Azure, ITIL, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
• Proven experience in vendor management, budgeting, and managing IT audits.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
• Good communication and coordination skills across Technology, Compliance, and Business teams.
