Job summary

Solventum is actively seeking an IT Finance and Planning Lead to partner with IT and business leaders and drive financial transparency across the technology portfolio.

You will own budgets, forecasting, and long-range plans, and deliver executive dashboards to enable strategic decisions in a fast-evolving healthcare technology environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, or related finance roles supporting complex tech/ business organizations.
• Strong expertise in annual planning, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Experience supporting IT portfolios, digital transformation programs, or enterprise investments.
• Knowledge of capex vs opex accounting, budgeting controls, and governance practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP platforms; data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT budgets, forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range financial plans.
• Own end-to-end IT financial performance management including monthly reporting and dashboards.
• Provide financial advisory support to IT leadership: ROI, TCO, business cases.
• Collaborate with portfolio/program/project leads for financial governance.
• Monitor IT spending, identify cost drivers, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Oversee vendor/contract financial activities, invoicing, accruals, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement of IT financial processes and controls.
• Develop executive-ready presentations and scenario analyses for decision making.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, IT and business stakeholders to ensure policy compliance.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an IT Finance and Planning Lead, you will have the opportunity to partner with IT and business leaders to drive financial transparency, investment decisions, and operational effectiveness across the technology portfolio. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead the development and management of IT budgets, forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, strategic roadmaps, and investment objectives.
• Own end-to-end IT financial performance management, including monthly reporting, variance analysis, executive dashboards, financial risk assessment, and actionable recommendations to enable informed decision-making.
• Provide financial advisory support to IT leadership teams by evaluating investment opportunities, business cases, total cost of ownership, ROI analyses, and funding alternatives for technology initiatives and transformation programs.
• Partner with portfolio, program, and project leaders to manage financial performance across the IT investment portfolio, including capital and operating expense planning, resource forecasting, benefits realization, and financial governance.
• Monitor and analyze IT spending trends, cost drivers, financial risks, and optimization opportunities, proactively identifying actions that improve financial efficiency, cost transparency, and value realization.
• Oversee vendor and contract-related financial activities, including budget tracking, purchase commitments, invoice validation, accruals, consumption analysis, forecast accuracy, and financial reporting for strategic suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement of IT financial management processes, controls, reporting, and planning capabilities through standardization, automation, enhanced analytics, and adoption of best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, audit requirements, investment governance standards, and financial controls.
• Develop executive-ready presentations, financial insights, and scenario analyses that support prioritization decisions, resource allocation discussions, and strategic planning activities across the IT organization.

Your skills & expertise (Minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems.
• 7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, portfolio financial management, or related finance roles supporting complex technology or business organizations.
• Strong expertise in annual planning, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, management reporting, and investment evaluation.
• Experience supporting technology organizations, IT portfolios, digital transformation programs, or enterprise project investments.
• Strong understanding of capital versus operating expense accounting, project financial management, budgeting controls, and financial governance practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial planning tools, ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.), and data analysis techniques.
• Proven ability to analyze complex financial information, identify trends and risks, and translate findings into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence decisions across Finance, IT, Procurement, and business leadership
• Experience developing executive-level dashboards, financial presentations, and decision-support materials for senior leadership audiences.
• Continuous improvement mindset with experience driving process optimization, automation, and reporting enhancements.

Additional qualifications (Nice to have):

• MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar professional qualification.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or other analytics and visualization tools.
• Knowledge of IT portfolio management, resource planning, project accounting, and benefits realization frameworks.
• Experience supporting large-scale ERP, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or digital transformation programs.
• Understanding of software licensing, vendor financial governance, contract financial management, and technology investment lifecycle management.
• Experience managing financial planning processes within a global, matrixed organization.
• Strong business partnering and consulting skills with demonstrated ability to influence strategic investment and funding decisions.
