Job summary

Syneos Health in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an IT Data Analyst to develop and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL. You will collaborate with clinical solutions teams to deliver reliable data for analytics and decision-making.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience in data analysis or ETL, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work across time zones (EST overlap). Certifications in Azure Data Engineer and Databricks are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in data analysis, data engineering, or ETL.
• Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) certification is required.
• Databricks certifications are highly desirable.
• Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and ETL pipelines.
• Lead client engagements and present complex findings clearly.
• Work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Ensure data quality within ADF and Databricks pipelines.
• Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Monitor performance and meet defined SLAs for data delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support analytical data needs.
• Maintain documentation for continuity across the team.
• Coordinate with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and release management.
• Understand data integrations with third-party platforms like Veeva CRM and Salesforce.
• Provide support during EST business hours and communicate across teams.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, including joins and Common Table Expressions (CTEs), for data extraction and transformation.
• Proven ability to lead client engagements and present complex findings.
• Able to work independently without the needs for close supervision and collaboratively as part of cross team efforts
• Extremely strong organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to details
• Ensure business logic and data quality checks are implemented and functioning correctly within ADF and Databricks pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues by conducting detailed root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure timely data delivery by tracking system performance and proactively addressing issues within defined SLAs.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to support operational and analytical data needs.
• Maintain strong documentation practices to ensure continuity and clarity across the team.
• Work closely with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and understand release processes (Dev to Ops Handover) and have experience on release management.
• Understand data integrations with third-party platforms such as Veeva CRM and Salesforce.
• Provide support during shift hours as per business requirements in EST time zones.
• Communicate effectively within team and across departments to align on objectives and tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in data analysis, data engineering, or ETL processes.
• Must hold an Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) certification.
• Databricks certifications are highly desirable.
• Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
