Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a skilled ERP developer to customize and extend Infor Baan/LN applications, translating business needs into robust technical solutions. You will collaborate with analysts and end users to implement changes and support upgrades, ensuring secure and scalable ERP performance.
You will work onsite five days a week, contribute to documentation, and stay updated on LN/Baan capabilities while adhering to company standards and security guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Infor Baan or Infor LN ERP systems.
- Experience with customization and development of LN/Baan modules.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and finance processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

- Develop, customize, and enhance Infor Baan/LN applications using appropriate development tools and technologies.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, functional consultants, and end users to understand requirements and implement technical changes.
- Experience with development in LNCE using Studio.
- Participate in ERP development activities including coding, unit testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring stable and efficient system performance.
- Maintain technical documentation including design specs, development logs, and configuration details.
- Assist in ERP upgrades, patches, and performance optimization efforts.
- Stay current with Infor LN/Baan technical capabilities, tools, and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to internal development standards, security guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Provide post‑implementation technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Infor Baan or Infor LN ERP systems
- Strong understanding of business processes in manufacturing, supply chain, finance, or related domains.
- Experience in customization and development.
- Proficiency in Baan/LN tools, scripting, and reporting.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Infor LN latest versions and cloud deployments.
- A good understanding of application lifecycle management, change management, and production release mechanisms desired.
- Certification in Infor Baan/LN or related modules.
- Work Timings: 01:00 Noon -10:00PM IST
- This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
- This position requires working onsite five days a week.
Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
- Helps create contingency plans to mitigate impact of disruption on core applications.
- Identifies key players, criticalities, roles, and responsibilities.
- Investigates application-related issues with both business and IT professionals.
- Recommends enhancements for a major application system or related subsystems.
- Works with core application systems for a major business unit or function.

- Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
- Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.

- Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.
- Uses fact‑finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.
Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
- Facilitates in application design reviews and walkthroughs.
- Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
- Interprets application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.
- Develops various, distinct and multiple technical application designs.
- Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
- Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.
Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
