NTT DATA Business Solutions seeks an experienced SAP IS-OIL Downstream Functional Consultant to provide L2/L3 support, troubleshoot production incidents, and drive small enhancements within an AMS framework.

The role requires deep knowledge of downstream oil processes, integration with SAP SD/MM/FI/CO, and collaboration with ABAP teams to implement fixes and improvements.

Qualificações

• Experience working with ABAP and integration teams for fixes and enhancements.
• Ability to understand existing custom developments and assess functional impact.
• Strong business-user communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within SLA-driven support environments.

Responsabilidades

• Provide L2/L3 functional support for SAP IS-OIL Downstream applications (AMS).
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and recurring functional issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and recommend permanent solutions for recurring problems.
• Handle service requests, configuration changes, minor enhancements and change requests.
• Coordinate directly with business users and process owners for issue analysis and resolution.
• Prepare functional specifications for fixes and enhancements and coordinate with ABAP/integration teams.
• Perform functional testing and support regression testing for fixes and releases.
• Support periodic releases, transports and production deployments from the functional side.
• Maintain solution documentation and knowledge articles.

Job Description

SAP IS-OIL Downstream Consultant – AMS

Experience: 7–12 years

Role: SAP IS-OIL Downstream Functional Consultant

Engagement: Application Management Services (AMS)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP IS-OIL Downstream Functional Consultant to provide application support and continuous improvement for an SAP IS-OIL environment. The consultant should have strong hands‑on functional knowledge of downstream oil processes and be capable of independently troubleshooting production issues, handling incidents/service requests and delivering small enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 functional support for SAP IS-OIL Downstream applications.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and recurring functional issues.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and recommend permanent solutions for recurring problems.
• Handle service requests, configuration changes, minor enhancements and change requests.

Support Downstream Processes Including

• Hydrocarbon product procurement and sales
• Bulk product movements and inventory
• Terminal/depot operations
• Transportation and distribution
• Quantity conversions and oil‑specific units of measure
• Inventory reconciliation, gains and losses
• Oil‑specific pricing and commercial processes
• Support relevant IS‑OIL areas such as TD (Transportation & Distribution), TSW (Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench) and associated downstream functionality.

Additional Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot integration issues between IS-OIL and SAP SD, MM, FI/CO and connected systems.
• Prepare functional specifications for fixes and enhancements and coordinate with ABAP/integration teams.
• Perform functional testing and support regression testing for fixes and releases.
• Support periodic releases, transports and production deployments from the functional side.
• Maintain solution documentation, issue resolution documentation and knowledge articles.
• Work within agreed AMS processes for incident, problem and change management.
• Coordinate directly with business users and process owners for issue analysis and resolution.

Required Skills

• 7–12 years of SAP experience, with strong hands‑on experience in SAP IS-OIL Downstream.
• Strong functional understanding of downstream Oil & Gas business processes.
• Hands‑on configuration and production support experience in relevant IS‑OIL areas.
• Experience in AMS/production support, including incident, problem and change management.
• Ability to independently diagnose complex functional and integration issues.
• Good integration knowledge across IS‑OIL, SD, MM and FI/CO.
• Experience working with ABAP and integration teams for defect fixes and enhancements.
• Ability to understand existing custom developments and determine functional impact.
• Strong business‑user communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work within SLA‑driven support environments.

Preferred

• Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Oil & Gas / IS‑OIL environments.
• Experience with TSW, TD and downstream logistics.
• Exposure to interfaces with terminals, external logistics systems or other downstream applications.
• Experience with ITIL‑based AMS operations.
• Experience supporting geographically distributed business users.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on IS‑OIL support consultant, rather than primarily a project manager or coordinator. The person should be comfortable taking ownership of a production issue, analyzing configuration and process behavior, coordinating technical investigation where required, and driving the issue through to resolution.

For screening, I would make actual IS‑OIL production‑support experience mandatory. A generic SAP SD/MM consultant who has merely worked on an Oil & Gas customer should not qualify as an IS‑OIL consultant.
