Job summary

AQR India in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Investment and Trading Compliance Lead. The role requires 10+ years in investment or trading compliance and leads a three-person team across the Compliance Department.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Finance or related field with 10+ years of experience in investment or trading compliance.
• 3+ years in direct report management and team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of equity and derivative investment strategies.
• Familiarity with major monitoring systems is a plus (e.g., Bloomberg, Aladdin).
• Understanding of key regulations (Investment Advisers Act, UCITS) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Investment and Trading Compliance Position

We are currently seeking an exceptionally talented individual with ten plus years of investment or trading compliance experience to join our Compliance Department.

Your Role

• Monitor and escape non-adherence to compliance guidelines and rules to senior managers in the compliance department through systems and tools
• Manage team of three, including assigning responsibilities, balancing workloads, ensuring appropriate coverage, reviewing work for accuracy and timeliness, and supporting team member growth and development
• Update compliance and investment guidelines in accordance with client requests, trading laws, regulations as applicable to AQR across the globe in different tools
• Responsible for portfolio surveillance and monitoring measures and to escape appropriately to senior managers when system highlights alerts
• Proactively update compliance systems to reflect business and regulatory changes, including client and regulatory restricted lists
• Support, build and update compliance checklists for all applicable policies and procedures
• Prepare process improvement documentation

What You'll Bring

• A BA or BS and a minimum of 10 plus years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of equity and derivative investment strategies
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing direct reports
• Strong knowledge of guideline monitoring software, Bloomberg, or a similar Order Management and Compliance Monitoring System is a plus (e.g. Aladdin, Charles River, Sentinel)
• Thorough understanding of the markets and willingness to learn new and complex investment methodologies
• Understanding of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and UCITS regulations especially in relation to alternative investment strategies is a plus
• F.A. or C.P.A. or local equivalent is a plus
