Job summary

Sooriya Hospital in Chennai is seeking an Associate Consultant - Interventional Cardiologist for a full-time, on-site role at Nungambakkam. The Interventional Cardiologist will perform diagnostic and therapeutic catheter-based procedures in the cath lab, including coronary angiography, angioplasty, and other interventional cardiology procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate Consultant - Interventional Cardiologist based at Sooriya Hospital, Nungambakkam, Chennai. The Interventional Cardiologist will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cath lab, including coronary angiography, angioplasty, and other interventional cardiology procedures. Responsibilities include evaluating patients with cardiac conditions, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and providing pre- and post-procedure care. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, participation in cardiac emergencies, and adherence to hospital protocols and clinical best practices. The Interventional Cardiologist will also contribute to patient education, quality improvement initiatives, and may participate in teaching or mentoring clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Medicine and Cardiology, with the ability to manage a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions.
• Hands-on experience working in a Cath Lab environment, including familiarity with related equipment and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in Interventional and Interventional Cardiology procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic coronary interventions.
• Recognized medical degree (DM/MD/DNB or equivalent) in Cardiology with appropriate board certification and valid medical license.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, continuous learning, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines.
• Experience in managing cardiac emergencies and willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
• Prior work in a tertiary care or high-volume cardiac center is an advantage.
