Goldman Sachs Bank AG is seeking a hands-on Full Stack Data Analyst to join the Internal Audit Data Analytics team. You will design, build, and ship analytical applications end-to-end—from data models and Python services to modern React front-ends—enabling audit teams to make data-driven decisions.

This high-impact role requires ownership of features from concept to production in a fast-paced Agile environment, collaborating with global teams and stakeholders across Internal Audit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineer experience.
• Proficient in Python development for production applications.
• Front-End experience with React and modern JavaScript.
• Strong SQL skills and data modelling concepts.
• Hands-on with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines; experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Testing approach incl. unit/integration tests and TDD in an Agile/Scrum setup.

WHAT WE DO

Internal Audit’s mission is to independently assess the firm’s internal control structure, including governance processes and controls, risk management, capital and anti-financial crime frameworks. Internal Audit communicates on the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls, raises awareness of control risk, assesses control culture and conduct risk, and monitors management’s implementation of control measures. Data Strategy and Analytics (DSA) partners with audit teams to translate data needs into durable, reusable capabilities. The team designs data products, engineering patterns and AI-ready data foundations that improve the efficiency, consistency and insight of audit work.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands‑on Full Stack Data Analyst to join our Internal Audit Data Analytics team supporting the Internal Audit Division. In this role you will design, build, and ship analytical applications end‑to‑end — from data models and Python services through to modern React front‑ends — that directly enable audit teams to work smarter and make better‑informed, data‑driven decisions.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, test, and maintainPython-based applications, services, and automation that power analytical and audit workflows.


• Build and expose well‑documented, secureRESTful APIs(Flask or similar frameworks) that serve data to internal applications and downstream consumers.


• Design and refinedata models— logical and physical — and write efficientSQL to support reporting, analytics, and application needs.


• Manage source control, code reviews, and automated build/test/deploy workflows inGitLab, contributing to and improvingCI/CD pipelines.


• Package and deploy applications to containerized environments, working with the platform team to promote code across environments reliably and repeatably.


• Champion engineering quality throughunit tests, integration tests, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).


• Partner closely with product owners, and audit stakeholders in aglobal, distributed Agile/Scrum setting to deliver iteratively.


• Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and developer experience.

Required Qualifications

Education Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Overall Experience 3–5 years of professional software engineer experience

Python

3–5 years ofstrong, hands‑on Python development experience building production applications

and exposure to data analytics tooling (pandas, NumPy)

Front‑End 1–2 years of hands‑on experience building UIs withReactand modern JavaScript

SQL & Data Modelling

Solid SQL skills and agood understanding of data modelling concepts— normalization, relational/dimensional design, schema evolution, and query performance

Version Control & DevOps

Hands‑on experience withGitLaband strong grasp of core Git concepts (branching strategies, merge requests, rebasing, conflict resolution) plus practical exposure toCI/CD pipelines

Testing

Demonstrated experience implementing unit tests, integration tests, and applying

Test-Driven Development

Ways of Working Proven track record operating in a fast‑pacedAgile/Scrumsetup with a global/remote team

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience designing and developingFlask-based REST APIs(or FastAPI/Django REST Framework).


• Working knowledge of deploying code to a Kubernetes cluster— building container images, writing/maintaining deployment manifests or Helm charts, and troubleshooting pods, services, and rollouts.


• Experience with containerization usingDockerand automating deployments through CI/CD pipelines.


• Familiarity with API design best practices — versioning, authentication/authorization, pagination, error handling, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.


• Understanding of cloud platforms such as Snowflake.

Prior experience in financial services, risk, or Internal Audit domains.
