Job summary

Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group (CC&L) seeks an intern for its Trade Support team, offering hands-on exposure to post-trade processes, trade capture, settlement, and reporting. The role focuses on learning trading operations and financial markets within a collaborative environment.

You will support the end-to-end post-trade workflow, work with derivatives and collateral management, and contribute to automation and data initiatives while developing a solid understanding of the trade

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of financial instruments and the trade lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the post-trade process from front to back, including trade matching, allocation, transmission, and settlement across derivatives, collateral management, and asset transfers.
• Monitor trade lifecycle events to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
• Collaborate with trading, compliance, and finance teams and external counterparties to resolve issues; participate in data cleanup and process automation.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented intern to join our Trade Support team.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in gaining hands‑on experience in trading operations, financial markets and post trade processes. The intern will support in the smooth operation of the post‑trade process using leading technologies and systems, helping ensure accurate trade capture, settlement and reporting.

What You Will Do:

• Assist with the entire post-trade process from front to back, including trade matching, allocation, transmission, and trade settlement, including but not limited to derivatives, collateral management, and asset transfers
• Monitor trade lifecycle events to ensure timely and accurate settlements
• Liase with internal team (trading, compliance, finance) and external counterparties for issue resolution
• Participate in data cleanup, process automation, and other ad hoc projects

What You Bring:

• You have or currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance or any equivalent degree
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Good understanding of financial instruments and the trade lifecycle
• Proficient in excel (Vlookup, Pivot tables, power BI )
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude -should be a go-getter
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail
