Job summary

Nextpower seeks an Intern-Systems Engineering based in Hyderabad to contribute to complex R&D programs for Tracker solutions at the Center for Solar Excellence. The role requires strong mechanical/applied physics background, load calculations, FEA, Matlab/Simulink and Python automation, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities include system‑level design analysis, failure‑mode evaluation, field testing support, and developing Matlab/Python tools for optimization, using CAD/CAE

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Structural/Mechanical/Applied Physics Engineering with an excellent academic record.
• Toolsets required: SolidWorks, Ansys FEA, Matlab, Simulink, Python and equivalents.
• Sound knowledge in structural/mechanical analysis and design (project‑level experience preferred).
• Strong aptitude in mechanical failure analysis.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in OpenSees environment is a big plus.
• Willingness to assist in field testing for a span of 3 to 6 months.

• Perform product failure‑mode analysis from testing and reverse engineering.
• Assist in various system‑level testing at the field.
• Develop and establish standard Matlab/Python‑based tools related to design optimization.
• Perform and manage engineering work using CAD/CAE software to solve problems in mechanical/structural design, finite element analysis, design optimization, fatigue analysis, structural dynamics and kinematics, vibrations, thermal analysis, and plastic part design.
• Document and report findings.

The Intern-Systems Engineering will be based in Hyderabad and will work on complex R&D programs related to various Tracker solutions within Nextpower. The candidate is expected to possess sound Mechanical / Applied Physics engineering knowledge to perform various load calculations, FEA, develop simulation models and assist in systems‑level testing at the Center for Solar Excellence, Hyderabad. The candidate must also have reasonable programming knowledge in Matlab/Simulink, Python for automating calculations, and will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to consolidate design efforts.
