CrisprBits Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking an Intern for Genomics services. You will assist with CRISPR scale-up, high-throughput cell culture, and molecular assays for drug discovery in a fast-growing startup.

The role requires an M.Sc. in life sciences and hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, DNA extraction, and CRISPR transfection, all performed on-site in Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• An M.Sc. degree in molecular biology, cell biology, bioengineering, or related life sciences field.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience and genomic DNA extraction.
• CRISPR-Cas9 transfection methods and basic troubleshooting under supervision.
• Ability to support multiple production workflows and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Support CRISPR-based scale-up activities for genomics services.
• Perform cell culture maintenance, expansion, and cryopreservation of lines.
• Conduct molecular analyses including PCR, gel electrophoresis, and Sanger data review.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to update SOPs and improve processes.

At CrisprBits, we are building cutting-edge CRISPR-based solutions across diagnostics and genome engineering. We are looking for an intern to support our genomics team with CRISPR scale-up, high-throughput cell cultures, and manual assays for drug discovery in a fast-growing startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Cell Line Engineering: Edit immortalized lines, cancer lines and human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) utilizing CRISPR-Cas9 to create clonal or pooled populations.
• Cell Culture Operations: Perform routine maintenance, expansion, feeding, and cryopreservation.
• Molecular Analysis: Extract genomic DNA, run PCR, perform gel electrophoresis, and analyse Sanger sequencing data.
• Process Optimization: Partner with molecular biology and R & D teams to test new technologies and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Eligibility Criterion

An M.Sc. Degree in molecular biology, cell biology, bioengineering, or a related life sciences field.

Required Skills

• Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience, genomic DNA extraction, and CRISPR transfection methods.
• Identify routine process or equipment issues and troubleshoot under supervision when appropriate.
• Support multiple production workflows and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory products, reagents, and supplies, including material requests and inventory updates as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support production timelines and resolve routine operational needs.
