The Humsafar Trust invites enthusiastic interns to support our Equity and Inclusion platforms in Mumbai. You will help manage and upload website content, repurpose social media material, and assist in researching LGBTQ+-related healthcare providers and community directories.

Ideal candidates have attention to detail, an interest in community storytelling, and familiarity with content management tools. This internship offers hands-on digital outreach experience in a non-profit setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Content uploading: collect and repurpose partner posts for the website.
• Formatting and editing to ensure accuracy and visual consistency.
• Website maintenance: update dates, images, and links as needed.
• Basic media handling: upload images, videos, or documents.
• Data collection: research LGBTQ+ initiatives and related resources.
• Day-to-day support: assist with documentation, data entry, and events.

Through its Equity & Inclusion initiatives, HST works towards strengthening the socioeconomic inclusion of LGBTQ+ communities by improving access to education, livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic opportunities.Our mission is to create an inclusive and supportive environment for the community, and we areseekinga passionate and creative intern to join our Equity and Inclusion team.

PositionOverview:

The intern is expected tosupportThe Humsafar Trust’sdigital visibility and outreach efforts through ourplatform,CONNECT NORC LGBTQ+. This role involves managing and uploadingcontent to the website, adapting materials from social media, andassistingin the research and collection of datarelated to LGBTQ+ initiatives, CBOs, and queer-affirming healthcare providers.We welcomecandidateswho bring attention todetail, an interest in community-driven storytelling, and a passion for using digital tools to supportequity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Uploading:Collect content from partner social media posts and repurpose it for our website (e.g., initiative updates, event highlights).
• Formatting & Editing:Monitor andmaintaincontent accuracy, formatting, and visual consistency across the portal.
• Website Maintenance:Update existing content whenrequired(e.g., dates, images, links).
• Basic Media Handling:Uploadaccompanyingimages, videos, or documents when needed.
• Data Collection:Research and compile information about queer-affirming doctors, clinics, and local CBOs to support ongoing directory and resource efforts.
• Day-to-Day Support:Assist with documentation, data entry, and organising workshops, events, and activities.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Passionate about LGBTQ+ advocacy and community-building.
• Prior experience or education in media, communications, or social media management is preferred.
• Comfortable using content management systems to upload, edit, and manage website content (we use tools like WordPress orProcessWire).
• Strong communicationskills, written and verbal (or your preferred mode of communication).
• Creativity and ability to think outside the boxwhen it comes to storytelling and messaging.
• Familiarity with graphic design is a plus (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
