Job Summary: This position supports full systems lifecycle activities including analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of applications software. The role involves collaboration with teams to ensure effective communication and support for project objectives, along with providing knowledge, development, maintenance, and support for applications.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using COBOL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, SAS, JCL, PL/1.
- Participate in the full SDLC including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaborate in an SAFe Agile environment with stakeholders and project managers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications for improved performance, security, and functionality.
- Develop and execute unit tests, document solutions.
- Ensure high-quality code and contribute to process improvements.
- Stay updated with industry trends related to mainframe development.
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years in Mainframe application development.
- 3+ years in COBOL programming.
- Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Analytical, problem-solving, debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in financial services is a plus.
Additional Skills:
- Version control tools (Git, Jira).
- Knowledge of AzureDevOps/TFS, SAFe Agile, API testing, Postman.
- Familiarity with Linux, Google Cloud, messaging queues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
