Job summary

Space Design Atelier in Varanasi is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to conceptualize and develop design solutions for hospitality, commercial, residential, and heritage projects. You will lead space planning, select materials and finishes, develop mood boards, and prepare detailed drawings.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate FF&E, collaborate with architects and contractors, visit sites, and ensure the design intent is realized on site while maintaining timelines

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit for on-site construction drawings.
• Experience with FF&E selection and specification.
• Strong space planning and concept development for hospitality and heritage projects.
• Ability to translate client requirements into practical design solutions.
• Excellent on-site coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

Role Description

The Interior Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing interior design solutions across hospitality, commercial, residential, and heritage projects. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, selecting materials and finishes, developing mood boards, preparing detailed drawings, and coordinating FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment). The role involves collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and contractors, conducting site visits, and ensuring design intent is accurately executed on-site. The Interior Designer will also participate in client presentations, incorporate feedback into design revisions, and help maintain project timelines and quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Varanasi.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Interior Design and Architecture skills, with experience developing cohesive design concepts for diverse project types.
• Candidates should possess Space Planning expertise to create efficient, functional, and aesthetically balanced layouts.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in preparing Construction Drawings, including detailed plans, sections, and elevations for execution on-site.
• Candidates should possess FF&E knowledge, including selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and finishes.
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar), and presentation tools.
• Strong visual and conceptual design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate client requirements into practical solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with hospitality or heritage projects and familiarity with local materials and construction practices in Varanasi will be an advantage.
