Job summary

January Designs is a turnkey interior design and fit-out firm based in Chennai. We seek a designer who can take a client from the first meeting to a signed-off design, owning the 3D and presentation side and coordinating with site and factory teams through handover.

You’ll create space plans, 3D views, and renders, present designs, manage revisions, and prepare working drawings for modular kitchens and wardrobes while ensuring work stays within budget.

Qualifications

• 1–6 years of experience in interior design (residential/commercial).
• Portfolio of completed projects required.
• Strong 3D modelling and rendering skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or 3ds Max and rendering tools.
• Experience with Naadi or other modular design software is a big plus.
• Good knowledge of materials and modular kitchen/wardrobe construction.
• Confident with clients and able to explain design ideas in Tamil and English.
• Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Meet clients, understand brief, budget and lifestyle, and turn it into a design concept.
• Create space plans, 3D views and realistic renders for client presentations.

• Prepare detailed working drawings for modular kitchens, wardrobes, TV units and other furniture, coordinated with our factory.
• Select materials, finishes, laminates, hardware and lighting within the project budget.
• Work with the BOQ team on quotes, and with site engineers during execution.
• Visit sites to check that work matches the design and resolve issues quickly.
• Handle multiple residential and commercial projects at the same time.

About us

January Designs is a turnkey interior design and fit-out firm with 15 years of experience and offices in Chennai. We handle the whole job in-house, from design and MEP to false ceiling, woodwork, tiling and painting, for both homes and commercial spaces. We also run our own modular kitchen and wardrobe factory, so what you design is what gets built, with no outsourcing in between.

The role

We're looking for a designer who can take a client from the first meeting to a signed-off design. You’ll own the 3D and presentation side of projects, work closely with our site and factory teams, and see your designs through to handover.

Salary: [1.75lpa-3.5lpa], based on experience and portfolio
