Job description

The Intensivist is responsible for the overall assessment, treatment and continuous monitoring of critically ill ICU patients, including airway and ventilator management, haemodynamic support, sepsis and emergency management, medication and antimicrobial safety, appropriate investigations and referrals, proper patient file documentation,infection prevention, communication with patients and families, informed consent, accurate clinical documentation, safe transfer and discharge, multidisciplinary coordination, supervision of ICU staff, and participation in Code Blue, mortality reviews, clinical audits, quality improvement and patient-safety activities as per hospital policies, granted clinical privileges and NABH 6th Edition standards.

MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Emergency Medicine or other relevant specialty, preferably with IDCCM/IFCCM/FNB Critical Care Medicine/DM Critical Care Medicine or equivalent critical-care qualification, valid Medical Council registration, and relevant ICU experience. The candidate should be competent in airway and ventilator management, haemodynamic monitoring, sepsis and emergency management, invasive procedures, infection control, documentation, multidisciplinary teamwork and patient-safety practices, with knowledge of NABH standards and good communication and leadership skills.
