Job summary

Canterr, Inc. seeks an experienced Integration Engineer in Chennai to design and implement cross-system data synchronization and messaging pipelines. You will work with IBM MQ, Amazon MQ, Kafka, and CDC tools to ensure reliable, ordered, idempotent delivery between Mainframe and modern data stores.

The role requires deep Mainframe expertise, AWS batch processing, and API integrations via z/OS Connect EE and API Gateway, complemented by IaC and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Integration Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with IBM MQ and Amazon MQ.
• Strong Kafka (Apache Kafka/Confluent) experience.
• CDC experience using Precisely and AWS DMS.
• Two-way live system synchronization with duplicate handling and reconciliation.
• Deep knowledge of Mainframe tech (VSAM, Db2, CICS, JCL).
• AWS orchestration and batch services: AWS Batch, Step Functions, EventBridge, Lambda, S3, Transfer Family.
• API integration with z/OS Connect EE and API Gateway; include timeouts and idempotency keys.
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation; CI/CD and CloudWatch monitoring.

Job description

• 12+ years of experience in Integration Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience building solutions on AWS.

Mandatory Skills

• Hands-on experience with IBM MQ and Amazon MQ, including channels, queues, request-reply patterns, message ordering, and retry mechanisms.


• Strong experience with Kafka (Apache Kafka/Confluent), including topics, partitions, consumer groups, and idempotent message delivery.


• Experience in Change Data Capture (CDC) using Precisely and AWS DMS from Mainframe VSAM and Db2 to PostgreSQL.


• Expertise in building two-way synchronization between live systems, handling duplicates, ordering, conflict resolution, reconciliation, and recovery.


• Strong knowledge of Mainframe technologies, including VSAM, Copybooks, Packed Decimals, Db2, CICS, JCL, and job schedulers such as ZEKE or Control-M.


• Hands-on experience with AWS orchestration and batch processing services, including:

• Experience in API integration using z/OS Connect EE and API Gateway, implementing timeouts, idempotency keys, and circuit breakers.

• Experience in Banking or other regulated industries.


• Daily exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
