Job summary

Jobtailor in Pune, India seeks an experienced Backend Integration Engineer to design and implement backend services, APIs, and SAP integration. You will work across SAP Commerce Cloud, ePIM, ERP, CMS, and other systems.

You will collaborate with architects and other engineers, write tests, and help drive production readiness while upholding standards and documentation. With 6+ years in backend and enterprise integration, strong Java/Spring and REST API skills are expected to ensure scalable,

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics & Modeling, or a comparable field.
• 6 years of professional experience in backend engineering and system integration.
• Hands-on experience in backend development, enterprise integration, and API implementation.
• Good experience with Java / Spring or comparable enterprise backend technologies.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML, backend services, and error handling.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as eCommerce, PIM, ERP, CMS, or similar systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work in structured delivery environments and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud and BFF / aggregation layer patterns is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services, APIs, and integration components for medias
• Implement and maintain backend logic for the BFF / SAP façade and related integration services
• Support integration between SAP Commerce, ePIM, ERP, CMS, and other connected systems
• Implement API contracts, data mappings, and error handling according to defined standards
• Support orchestration of data flows and backend business logic across enterprise systems
• Analyze and resolve backend and integration-related defects and issues
• Contribute to backlog refinement by helping translate requirements into implementable technical tasks
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Follow coding standards, integration patterns, and documentation requirements
• Collaborate closely with Senior Integration / Backend Engineers, Solution Architects, Frontend engineers, Platform / DevOps engineers, QA, the Product Owner, and implementation partners
• Contribute to technical documentation, interface documentation, and operational handover materials
• Support end-to-end testing through backend and integration implementation, defect fixing, and technical test support
• Support release readiness activities and backend-related production rollout preparation
• Collaborate with vendors and external service providers within assigned delivery scope
• Provide 2nd level support and contribute to 3rd level support for backend and integration topics in line with ITIL-based support processes
• Support performance, stability, and maintainability improvements in backend and integration services
