Job summary

Saumit Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. in Surat seeks an experienced insurance operations leader to own the operational function. You will oversee underwriting, policy execution, team management, CRM and process improvements to ensure accurate, timely insurance transactions.

Responsibilities include directing underwriting across major lines, reviewing quotations and policy terms, and driving efficiency in policy issuance, renewals and servicing with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in insurance operations/underwriting.
• Strong practical knowledge of both General & Life Insurance, especially commercial insurance.
• Hands-on understanding of underwriting, policy documentation and servicing.
• Strong team-management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
• Tech-savvy with good understanding of CRM, MIS and operational systems.
• Detail-oriented, process-driven and capable of taking complete ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire insurance operations team.
• Handle/oversee underwriting and risk assessment across major lines: Fire | Marine | Burglary | WC | Group Mediclaim | Group Term Life | Motor | Property | Liability & other commercial risks.
• Review quotations, proposals, policy terms, coverage, exclusions and documentation.
• Ensure accuracy in policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, claims coordination and servicing.
• Manage and improve CRM, MIS, data management and operational tracking.
• Allocate work, monitor team performance and ensure timely execution.
• Coordinate with insurance companies, clients, surveyors and internal teams.
• Establish SOPs and controls to minimise errors and improve turnaround time.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and continuously improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and applicable insurance regulations.
