Job description

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in financial reporting, insurance accounting, investment accounting, or insurance consulting, preferably gained through Big 4, consulting, insurance carriers, or financial services organizations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and STAT principles, particularly in the insurance industry.
• Experience with investment accounting systems, such as PAM, is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive process improvements.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Experience working with global stakeholders and supporting business development activities is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, STAT, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and manage investment accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of various asset classes, including fixed income, equities, private placements, real estate investments, and alternative assets.
• Supervise a team of consultants, providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management.
• Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, statutory filings, and other regulatory reports.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, overseeing reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Work closely with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to address reporting and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on financial strategy, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
• Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting best practices to ensure compliance and business adaptability.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members, supporting both their technical and professional growth while helping build a strong and sustainable India-based team.
• Lead knowledge transfer and transition activities, enabling the India team to progressively take ownership of key workstreams and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal onshore involvement.
• Support the development and expansion of new service offerings and workstreams within the Accounting and Finance Consulting practice.
• Participate in business development activities, including proposal support, solution development, client presentations, and pursuit opportunities.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the practice by identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and expand services.
