Job summary

Worley India in Kolkata is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer Level II to join our design and drafting team. You will deliver instrumentation and electrical design services, prepare layouts, takeoffs, and 3D models, and coordinate with discipline teams to ensure fit-for-purpose deliverables.

The role requires a Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in instrumentation/electrical design and drafting in relevant industries, and strong proficiency with Microstation/AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in instrumentation and electrical design/drafting in relevant industries.
• Experience with Brownfield modifications and control system interfaces.
• Proficiency in reading P&IDs and delivering instrumentation deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instrumentation and E&I design and drafting to meet standards.
• Define scope, drawings, and deliverables per project schedule.
• Coordinate with GID/HO and other disciplines for interfaces.
• Create Instrumentation deliverables: layouts, cable schedules, loop drawings.

The Role

As an Instrumentation Engineer Level II with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Instrumentation and Electrical specific design and drafting services that meet Worley, the clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Identify design scope based on the project definition and develop list of drawing deliverables and estimates to complete the work.
• Initiate and manage design & drafting assignments for projects specific requirements as per schedule and budget.
• Perform Instrumentation and Electrical specific design and drafting services such as:
  • ensure the project scope is clear, identify change & risk with design scope and any changes to scope is recorded as per project change management processes.
  • interpret and interface vendor equipment and/or third-party design documents into project design.
  • ensure all drawings and documents are prepared and checked in accordance with Worley drafting standard and checking procedures.
  • participate in various project reviews and 3D model reviews as required .
• Undertake design and drafting assignments in line with projects requirements on time and within budget .
• Experience with Workshare delivery, communicate effectively with the GID/HO discipline teams on all discipline matters and other disciplines whilst considering design interfaces .
• Establish and maintain good working relationships within the project team GID/HO.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Tradesperson who has completed Instrumentation Design, Drafting and Estimates course
• At least 8 years Instrumentation and Electrical design and drafting experience in MMM/MH industry, O&G Industry or similar industry
• Experience in Brownfield Instrumentation & electrical systems modifications and knowledge of control system interfaces
• A good understanding of Australian and European instrumentation & electrical standards
• Highly effective technical and practical Instrumentation & Electrical design and drafting skills
• Proven skillset in utilizing the following software and tools:
  • Microstation SE and or AutoCAD 18 and above
  • Microsoft Office and Excel
  • 3D Modelling softwares (E3D and/or S3D)
  • Navisworks
  • Preferred : Smart Plant Instrumentation (INtools 2018) and/or AVEVA Instrumentation
• Effectively interface with other disciplines to ensure fit for purpose design
• Good understanding of control systems and PLC / DCS interfacing understanding of different types of inputs/outputs
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDS
• Proven experience in creating Instrumentation deliverables such as:
  • Instrument and JB Location Layouts
  • Cable Routing Layouts
  • Control and Equipment Room Layouts
  • Cable Schedules
  • Field Cable/ Network Block Diagrams
  • Instrument Loop Drawings
  • Wiring and Termination Diagrams
  • Hook-up Drawings
  • Instrumentation Installation Drawings
  • Material take offs
  • Network Architecture Drawings
  • Panel general arrangements
  • Panel and Junction Box Layouts
  • 3D Modelling of Offline Instruments, Panels/ JBs, Cable Trays/ Raceways
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to clearly convey information and ideas to project team members
