Role Title: Institutional Securities Data Strategy & Analytics, Associate/Senior Associate, Business Solutions Group - ISGM
We’re seeking an Associate/Senior Associate to collaborate with internal and external experts to design and deliver high‑performance data frameworks and technical platforms that power advanced analytics engagements and solutions.
The Business Solutions Group (BSG) is an in‑house consulting unit within Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Securities Group. It supports ISG lines (Global Markets, Investment Banking, Capital Markets) and cross‑functional teams (Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology) to drive transformation and data‑driven outcomes.
What you'll do in the role
- Support high‑quality, multi‑workstream consulting engagements across front office, risk, finance, operations, and technology.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to enhance and propose technology assets and solutions, ensuring seamless deployment and continuous upgrade of functionalities.
- Own deliverables across the automation journey, documenting and analyzing use cases and scenarios.
- Create and manage project plans, identify risks and issues, report progress, and track associated benefits.
- Partner with BSG leadership and stakeholders at all program phases to meet deadlines and resolve risks/issues.
- Support change management, process enhancements, control, and governance initiatives.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, high‑performance culture.

- Proven ability to manage delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact at all levels and tailor messages appropriately.
- Strong presentation skills, including creating polished PowerPoint presentations for management.
- Independent self‑starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn business and understand detailed technical requirements.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Data & Analytics, Business Management, Consulting, Transformation, or related roles within Financial Services.
- Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skills with hands‑on experience in data analysis, visualization, dashboards, automation, and management reporting using SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Excel/VBA, or similar tools.
- Experience leveraging technology, automation, AI/ML, generative AI, and digital solutions to improve business processes, controls, decision‑making, and operational efficiency.
- Experience building and managing data pipelines and working with structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data, including data governance, quality, metadata management, and lineage.
- Experience with financial and markets data domains (trades, positions, P&L, risk, market data, reference data, client data, finance, regulatory reporting).
- Understanding of the Sales & Trading / Global Markets ecosystem (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Rates, Credit, Derivatives) and associated processes is preferred.
- Experience in project management, product development, business management, consulting, PMO, or transformation initiatives is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in quantitative disciplines such as Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
