Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Installed Base Engineer to build, validate, and maintain high-quality Installed Base data across global service operations. You will support analytics, asset visibility, and business growth by ensuring data quality and integrity across SAP records and BI tools.

The role requires a strong understanding of electrical equipment and lifecycle management, with up to 5 years of relevant experience and excellent cross-cultural collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Up to 5 years of relevant experience in substation operations, maintenance, service engineering, asset management or related fields.
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment and asset lifecycle management.
• Strong analytical thinking and effective communication across cultures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve Installed Base data quality across regions and countries.
• Validate, enrich, and maintain customer, site, and installation information; resolve data inconsistencies.
• Identify assets and equipment information from SAP records; extract and transform data into structured digital asset records.
• Review engineering, commissioning, and project documentation reports and archived docs.
• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers, Service Operations, and country teams globally.
• Support user training sessions related to Installed Base processes, tools, and data governance.

The Opportunity

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 3000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. The Installed Base Engineer is responsible for building, validating and maintaining high-quality Installed Base data across global service operations while supporting analytics, asset visibility and business growth initiatives.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Installed Base (IB) data quality across assigned regions and countries.
• Installed Base data quality management
• Validate, enrich, and maintain customer, site, and installation information, Identify and resolve data inconsistencies to ensure accurate and reliable sites, products, assets, spares and service history records
• Perform Single Line Diagram (SLD) reviews, scanning to identify sites assets identification activities
• Extract and transform data and equipment information into structured digital asset records.
• Review engineering, commissioning, and project documentation service reports, test reports, archived documentation.
• Able to work with SAP records to extract asset information.
• Collaborate closely with Field Service Engineers, Service Operations teams, and country organizations globally
• Support and coordinate user training sessions related to Installed Base processes, tools, and data governance.
• SAP, BI and digital tool utilization & Strong data analytical skills.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related Engineering discipline
• Up to 5 years of relevant experience in substation operations, maintenance, service engineering, asset management or related fields.
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment, Switchgears, substations, transformers, electrical equipment and asset lifecycle management.
• Strong analytical thinking; effective communication; collaboration across cultures; customer focus; attention to detail; continuous improvement mindset.
