Job summary

Servotech India Limited in Boisar, Maharashtra, is seeking an Inspection Engineer (Quality Control) with 5–8 years of mechanical engineering experience. The role involves on-site inspection of supplier equipment, QA document reviews, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure workmanship and compliance.

The candidate will manage the complete inspection cycle, issue MPRs/SCARs, mentor junior engineers, and produce detailed inspection reports and BOQs.

Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical engineering is required.
  • 5-8 years of experience in mechanical inspections.
  • Experience in edible oil industry preferred.
  • Hands-on with engineering drawings and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and prepare drawings including P&IDs and PFDs.
  • Capable of coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits and MPR/SCARs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform supplier quality inspections and witness tests at supplier factories.
  • Review QA procedures, Quality Manuals, calibration records.
  • Prepare inspection reports and MPR/SCARs.
  • Plan and coordinate inspection schedules across projects.
  • Prepare BOQ, equipment specs and technical reports.
  • Conduct plant surveys for potential suppliers.
  • Coordinate multi-team efforts and mentor new engineers.
  • Track inspections and ensure closure with vendors.
  • Carry out hydraulic/water tests and follow-up.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in equipment team discussions when required.

Job Description:

  • Must be capable of handling multiple project requirements simultaneously.
  • Proven work experience in Mechanical Engineering (experience in the edible oil industry preferred).
  • Hands‑on experience with engineering drawings and drafting software such as AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings, including GADs, layouts, site plans, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs.
  • Perform source inspections by witnessing key tests and inspecting equipment for acceptable workmanship at supplier factories. Communicate deviations and work with suppliers and responsible engineers to resolve them in coordination with Quality Control.
  • Conduct plant surveys for potential new suppliers, including plant visits, interviews with key personnel, and review of documentation such as Quality Manuals, QA procedures, test procedures, and calibration records.
  • Carry out periodic surveillance inspections at key supplier factories based on risk factors such as recent quality issues, process changes, or critical manufacturing processes.
  • Issue Material Problem Reports (MPRs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) for assigned suppliers as per company guidelines.
  • Perform shop inspections and audits of equipment and materials, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Prepare project deliverables such as bought‑out items, fabrication items, piping BOQ, project BOQ, and other related reports.
  • Plan and coordinate effectively with multiple team members based on project timelines and priorities.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and technical comparison reports.
  • Ensure effective multi‑department coordination and follow‑up.
  • Conduct physical inspections of machinery, equipment, and materials at vendor sites, client locations, and project sites. Prepare and submit inspection reports to concerned stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inspection schedules for orders at assigned supplier plants and for other purchase orders.
  • Support and mentor Quality Engineers who are new to the Supplier Quality team.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in major equipment team discussions, when required.
  • Track and report project‑wise inspections in a timely manner.
  • Manage the complete inspection cycle, including conducting hydraulic/water tests of equipment and following up with vendors for compliance and closure.
