Job summary

Anovia in Bengaluru seeks an Infrastructure Specialist to manage day-to-day administration, monitoring and L2/L3 support for enterprise server environments across on-prem, virtualized and cloud platforms.

The role emphasizes security hardening, patch management, incident resolution within SLAs, and automation using Shell/PowerShell/Python/Ansible, with collaboration to keep production systems reliable and compliant.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Linux/Windows server administration in production.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for OS, performance, boot, network and storage issues.
• Experience with patch management and server hardening.
• Knowledge of DNS, LDAP/AD, SSL, and basic networking.
• Familiarity with ITIL incident/change/problem management.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and maintain Linux/Windows servers across physical, virtual and cloud environments.
• Provide L2/L3 support by troubleshooting OS, performance, storage and connectivity issues, and resolving incidents within SLAs.
• Plan and execute OS patching, upgrades and security hardening (CIS benchmarks) in line with change management.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, file systems, volume groups and logical volumes.
• Build and manage virtual machines on VMware vSphere or the client's cloud platform.
• Automate routine administration tasks using Shell, PowerShell, Python or Ansible.
• Monitor system health and capacity with tools such as Splunk, Nagios or cloud-native monitoring, and act on alerts.
• Support backup and restore activities and participate in disaster recovery tests.
• Raise and update incidents, changes and problem records in ServiceNow or an equivalent ITSM tool, and contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks and handover notes.

The Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for providing day-to-day administration, maintenance and L2/L3 support for enterprise server environments at a large global client. The role ensures production systems remain secure, patched, monitored and available, resolves incidents within SLA, and automates routine tasks to improve reliability.

• Strong troubleshooting skills for OS, performance, boot, network and storage issues.
• Experience with patch management and server hardening.
• Working knowledge of VMware vSphere or a public cloud platform (Azure or AWS).
• Scripting in Shell, PowerShell or Python for automation.
• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, LDAP or Active Directory, SSL certificates and basic networking.
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, change and problem management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or an equivalent discipline.
• Preferred certifications: RHCSA or RHCE, Microsoft Certified (Windows Server or Azure Administrator), VMware VCP, or AWS certifications.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, and support on-call requirements and weekend change windows when required.
• Ability to work from the client office from day one.

Good to have

• Ansible or Terraform for configuration and infrastructure automation.
• Containers (Docker) and introductory knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Exposure to middleware such as Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere or WebLogic.
• Experience with backup tools such as Veritas NetBackup or Commvault.
• Exposure to IBM AIX or Power Systems.
