Job summary

NatWest Group is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to engineer and operate cloud infrastructure across public and private environments. You will manage the Apigee Hybrid platform on AWS, implement automated pipelines and ensure security, resilience and observability in regulated banking services.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable infrastructure, contribute to product roadmaps, and drive best practices in CI/CD and IaC across the bank.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, networking, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience designing, deploying and supporting resilient, secure platforms in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of Agile practices and toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Apigee Hybrid platform on AWS, ensuring high availability and security.
• Oversee platform operations, infrastructure management, security compliance, resiliency and automation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps and lifecycle planning.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and self-service infra products.
• Coordinate with Security, Network, Cloud, Developer Experience and Application teams.

What you'll do

As an Infrastructure Engineer,you'llcontribute to and manage the selection, creation and maintenance of technologiesrequiredto meet the needs of our customers, strategictargetsand architecture outcomes, along with developing products using modern engineering practices and tools.

A significant part of your role will focus on the Apigee Hybrid platform running on AWS, including platform operations, infrastructure management, security compliance, resiliency, and automation.

We'lllook to you to collaborate with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps, detailing lifecycles of the technology from new products through to end of support and retirement. You'llalso support engineered products and respond to user feedback, new feature requests and resolve production issues wanted by the Product Owner.

Additionally, You'll

• Develop technical skills through continuous learning and development
• Work within a team to design intuitive, self-service infrastructure products
• Contribute to the delivery of infrastructure as code solutions
• Work closely with Security, Network, Cloud, Developer Experience, and Application teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
• Provide operational support for pattern or product related issues

The skills you'll need

To thrive in this role, you'll have strong experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, platform operations, and enterprise-scale environment management. You'll possess hands- on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, networking, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a proven track record of designing, deploying, and supporting highly resilient, secure, and scalable platforms within a regulated environment.

We'llexpect you to bring a good understanding of Agile working practices and toolsets with the ability to relate everyday work to the vision of the feature team,platformand domain.

Furthermore, You'll Need

• Experience of the development of CI or CD pipelines using modern toolingwith 7+ years of experience
• Proficient in AWS Cloud (VPC, Transit gateway, ELB, global accelarator, route 53, S3 , WAF), proficient in Container orchestration (EKS), HPA, Karpenter, argo-cd
• Expert in Infrastructure as Code (Enterprise terraform, TFE workspace) Proficient on CI/CD and pipeline (gitlab)
• Proficient on Observability (Otel, Fluentbit, promethus), Monitoring (cloudwatch, splunk)
• Good to have - Knowledge on Apigee Hybrid
