Job Description:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will work with the Infrastructure Team to deliver best-in-class infrastructure service to our customers. Working alongside other resources, you will assess the current set-up, identify areas of automation and optimization, and build out infrastructure-as-code and product delivery pipelines across cloud and on-prem environments. This is an automation-first role: your core toolkit will be Azure DevOps (Repos, YAML Pipelines, Artifacts, Boards), Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, and scripting in PowerShell / Bash / Python to replace manual and semi-automated deployments with repeatable, fully automated provisioning. You are also expected to use AI assistants (Claude, and similar) as part of your day-to-day engineering - for authoring pipelines and Terraform, triaging logs and incidents, and generating documentation and runbooks - responsibly and within Adeptias data-handling guidelines. You will be required to work in flexible shifts (24*7) to cater business demands.

Job Responsibilities

1. Deploy and manage Adeptia proprietary applications in customer on‑prem / Adeptia‑managed public cloud on Azure through CI/CD pipelines built in Azure DevOps (multi-stage YAML pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, self-hosted agents), supported by Terraform.
2. Author and maintain reusable Terraform modules to provision Azure, AWS, GKE resources end to end - remote state and state locking, workspaces per environment, provider and module versioning, plan reviews, drift detection and controlled applies executed through pipelines rather than manual changes.
3. Own and continuously improve Azure DevOps pipelines end to end: branching and pull request policies, build and release stages, approvals and gates, variable groups and Key Vault-linked secrets, artifact versioning, and automated rollback.
4. Automate repetitive operational work - patching, certificate renewals, backups, scaling, health checks and environment refreshes - using PowerShell / Bash / Python, Azure Automation, Functions and event-driven triggers, with a measurable reduction in manual effort as the goal.
5. Use AI tools (Claude and similar) in day-to-day engineering: generating and reviewing pipeline and Terraform code, summarizing logs and alerts to speed up root cause analysis, and drafting runbooks and documentation - while ensuring customer data, secrets and proprietary code are never shared with unapproved tools.
6. Contribute to AI‑assisted operations: anomaly detection on logs and metrics, early warning on performance and cost issues, and self-healing / auto-remediation workflows.
7. Work with team to build multi-region highly available systems, make sure faster DR, ensure Security like EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response).
8. Work with team to build and create multiple Azure and AWS services for continuous deployment of applications in DEV/QA/PROD environment as Docker / ContainerD containers, Kubernetes pods, Nodes, Storage, Services, Network etc.
9. Monitor the performance of the Adeptia application and solution for computing, storage, database performance and network resource utilization and performance degradation.
10. Work with team in configuration changes based on industry best practices to the growing solution and system needs.
11. Perform regularly scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system and application performance
12. Follow Agile methodology such as Scrum, Kanban for faster and continuous delivery.

Desired Skills

1. Knowledge and vast experience in Azure cloud. Worked on Azure compute, storage, network & security, DNS, Load Balancer, VPN Gateway, Entra ID, Azure Service Bus, Event Hub.
2. Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps - Repos, YAML Pipelines, Artifacts, Boards, service connections, self-hosted agents, environments and approval gates - along with Git branching strategies.
3. Strong hands‑on Terraform: reusable modules, remote state and state locking, workspaces and environment separation, variables and secrets handling, terraform plan/apply through pipelines, drift detection, and policy or compliance checks (Sentinel / OPA / Azure Policy).
4. Solid automation and scripting ability in PowerShell and Bash, preferably Python, including Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, ARM/Bicep familiarity and REST APIs to remove manual, repetitive tasks.
5. Practical knowledge of using AI in engineering workflows - AI coding assistants (Claude and similar) for IaC and pipeline development, effective prompting for log and error analysis, AI‑generated documentation and runbooks - together with a clear understanding of their limitations and of secure, responsible usage. Awareness of AI concepts relevant to cloud operations: Azure OpenAI service, retrieval‑augmented generation, AI agents and MCP‑based integrations, and AIOps‑style anomaly detection and auto‑remediation
6. Expertise in deploying and managing microservices applications using containerization concept and container engine like Docker and ContainerD.
7. Experience in Kubernetes cluster using Container Platform such as AKS, EKS and good knowledge on Pods, Replicaset, Deployments (Rolling updates, scale up, scale down), Services, Networking, Helm, Helm Chart, Stateful sets, Persistent volume, K8s scheduler, Node Affinity, Metric Server, Configmaps, certificate management etc.
8. Familiarity with cloud-based disaster recovery and HA system development
9. Experience on Linux and Windows Server administration.
10. Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana and EFK Stack.
11. Knowledge with SIEM tools (SentinalOne is added advantage).
12. Understanding of SOC Compliance Requirements.
13. Can effectively communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Base Qualifications:

• B. Tech or BCA with 2+ years of total working experience.
• Public Cloud Certification such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate. In particular AZ-104.
• DevOps certification such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate will be a strong advantage.
