The Corporate Institute in Gurgaon, India seeks a dynamic Finance Controller to lead the finance function for a new, fast-growing subsidiary of InfoEdge and support the Naukri B2C business. You will establish robust financial processes, partner with leadership, and provide insights for strategic initiatives.

The role requires strong FP&A, accounting, MIS and tax expertise in a start-up setup. You will drive budgeting, variance analysis, dashboards, and governance across global finance

Qualifications

  • CA / MBA Finance / equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.
  • 8 – 12 years of relevant experience across controllership, business finance, FP&A, accounting and financial operations.
  • Experience in a start‑up, new business, high‑growth or technology/digital environment would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning process for the business unit.
  • Partner with the Business Head and functional leaders to develop budgets aligned with business plans.
  • Track actuals against budgets and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Support business leaders in evaluating financial implications of new initiatives, investments and commercial decisions.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support business growth and profitability.
  • Own timely and accurate monthly/quarterly MIS and management reporting.
  • Prepare dashboards covering revenue, costs, profitability, cash flows and key business metrics.
  • Provide meaningful variance analysis and identify key financial trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Establish relevant KPIs and financial metrics for the new business.
  • Present financial performance and insights to senior leadership.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations and month-end closure.
  • Ensure accurate and timely books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
  • Establish robust financial controls and approval mechanisms for the business unit.
  • Drive timely closure of books and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for new products, revenue streams, contracts and business transactions.
  • Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal/external tax advisors and auditors on tax matters.
  • Ensure timely filing of returns, payments and statutory compliances.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business.
  • Support tax planning and ensure appropriate documentation and controls.
  • Oversee finance transaction processing across the business unit, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and appropriate controls.
  • Establish processes for vendor payments, customer collections, billing, expense management and other financial transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance processes.
  • Ensure appropriate maker-checker controls and segregation of duties.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables/payables and drive timely resolution.
  • Act as a finance business partner to the Business Head and leadership team.
  • Provide financial insights to support pricing, revenue, cost and investment decisions.
  • Evaluate business cases and commercial proposals from a financial perspective.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities without committing to business growth.
  • Support leadership in understanding financial risks and their business impact.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies, processes and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors and ensure timely closure of audit requirements.

Job description

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and hands‑on Finance Controller to manage the finance function for a new and fast‑growing business vertical, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of InfoEdge. The person will also support finance for the Naukri B2C business. The role will be responsible for establishing strong financial processes and controls while partnering closely with the Business Head and leadership team to drive financial discipline, visibility and informed decision‑making, supporting them with complex and strategic initiatives from a finance perspective and providing financial insights and analytics.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise across financial planning and analysis, accounting, taxation, MIS, transaction processing, budgeting and financial controls, along with the ability to operate effectively in a start‑up environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Budgeting:
