Job summary

Brose Group, a family-owned company expanding globally, seeks an experienced Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer specialized in welding and process optimization in Maharashtra. You will lead process planning, line balancing, and cost improvements across EV component manufacturing, ensuring PQCDSM targets and on-time equipment commissioning.

You will mentor teams, develop standards, and collaborate with customers to install and validate new lines while driving continuous improvement and robust

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical / Automotive / Industrial Engineering.
• 8-10+ years proven experience in resistance welding, hard soldering/brazing, and laser welding applications.
• Experience with automated manufacturing systems and robotics is preferred.
• Knowledge of Motor, Electronics manufacturing.
• PFMEA/MTM/SPC/IATF16949/ISO14001.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement activities in plant to improve PQCDSM.
• Support customer team industrial Engineer to meet deadlines for planning, procurement and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
• Prepare documentation for manufacturing equipment (PFD, PFMEA, WI, check sheets).
• Evaluate and monitor engineering changes for projects in Production.
• Develop and maintain plant layouts and communicate with affected departments.
• Transfer lessons learned to development projects during lessons learned workshops.
• Install and launch equipment in plant for new projects.
• Contribute to assembly line concept, DAP finalization, and line trials for new projects.
• Set up and maintain production data in SAP (MRP).
• Establish welding specifications, work instructions, and process standards.
• Evaluate weld quality and implement corrective actions.
• Train manufacturing teams on welding processes.
• Mentor engineers and technicians on process optimization.

Your Tasks

• Preferred Experience: Hands-on expertise in laser welding, resistance welding, and hard soldering/brazing, preferably within an Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing environment or an EV components/product manufacturing company. Strong experience in Plant Industrial Engineering (IE), including process planning, line balancing, capacity planning, productivity improvement, and manufacturing cost optimization.
• Driving continuous improvement activities in plant to improve PQCDSM.
• Support customer team industrial Engineer to meet all deadlines related to planning, procurement and commissioning of manufacturing equipment and ensuring the highest reliability of installed manufacturing equipment as well as meeting the targeted quality and cost objectives.
• Preparation of all necessary documents and instructions for manufacturing equipment like PFD, PFMEA, WI, Check sheets.
• Evaluation and monitoring of engineering changes for projects in Production.
• Developing and maintaining plant layouts with close communication to the affected departments.
• Transfer of lessons learned from projects in production to development projects during " lessons learned" workshop.
• Support to customer team industrial Engineering for Industrial Engineering tasks including the planning and procurement of manufacturing equipment on time and in the targeted cost.
• Support to customer team Industrial Engineer to Install and launch the equipment in plant.
• Active involvement in assembly line concept, specification, DAP finalization for new projects along with CT IE.
• Active involvement in assembly line trails, process validation activities for new projects.
• Responsible for ensuring the taking of the smooth handover of assembly lines and equipment’s for new project from customer team with expected results.
• Responsible for process capability studies, POKA YOKE on assembly lines.
• Responsible for the customer/IATF and internal audits for IE function.
• Responsible for daily assembly line and equipment process problem solving as CFT member.
• Responsible for MTM studies/cycle time studies/Line balancing in series projects.
• Responsible for the productivity improvement/Internal logistics activities in plant.
• Evaluation and implementation of technical modifications during the serial phases.
• Set up and maintain production data (material master, bill of materials, rate routings, production versions) in SAP (MRP system).
• Establish resistance welding, hard soldering/brazing, and laser welding specifications, work instructions, and process standards.
• Evaluate weld quality through destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
• Analyze welding defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support material selection and design-for-manufacturing reviews.
• Troubleshoot welding equipment and process-related issues.
• Train manufacturing teams on welding and joining processes.
• Develop best practices and technical documentation.
• Mentor engineers and technicians on process optimization and problem-solving methodologies.

Your Profile
