Job summary

Thales in Bengaluru is looking for an Engineer II specializing in Industrial Automation and Data Analysis. You will design automation systems for real-time data collection and analyze data trends to drive business decisions.

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in Industrial Automation and Data Analysis. Proficiency in using tools like Power BI and understanding IoT protocols are essential.

Location: Bangalore - Indraprastha, India

Engineer II – Industrial Automation with Data Analyst
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Industrial Automation Data Collection – design of industrial systems and standards, integration with other systems across Thales sites, focus on data collection and connectivity.
  • Data Analyst – collect, analyze, visualize data to help organizations make data‑driven decisions. Design and maintain dashboards that display KPIs, trends, and insights.
Detailed Responsibilities
  • Design automation layers to enable real‑time machine data collection for performance tracking, predictive maintenance, and OEE improvement.
  • Implement protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.) for secure and reliable data acquisition.
  • Work closely with site engineering, IT/OT teams, production, and quality to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Collect and clean data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and outliers.
  • Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Excel.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and define metrics.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management or business units.
  • Automate regular reporting processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Major Challenges
  • Work with IPE team of France in a different time zone.
  • Work with multiple teams in tandem.
  • Continuously develop the required technical skills.
  • Promote collaboration within the team IPE.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders (Site Team/Methods Team/Maintenance Team).
