Engineer II – Industrial Automation with Data Analyst
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Industrial Automation Data Collection – design of industrial systems and standards, integration with other systems across Thales sites, focus on data collection and connectivity.
- Data Analyst – collect, analyze, visualize data to help organizations make data‑driven decisions. Design and maintain dashboards that display KPIs, trends, and insights.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Design automation layers to enable real‑time machine data collection for performance tracking, predictive maintenance, and OEE improvement.
- Implement protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.) for secure and reliable data acquisition.
- Work closely with site engineering, IT/OT teams, production, and quality to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
- Collect and clean data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets, etc.).
- Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and outliers.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Excel.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and define metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to management or business units.
- Automate regular reporting processes.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Major Challenges
- Work with IPE team of France in a different time zone.
- Work with multiple teams in tandem.
- Continuously develop the required technical skills.
- Promote collaboration within the team IPE.
- Work with multiple stakeholders (Site Team/Methods Team/Maintenance Team).
