The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) Srinagar invites applications from eligible carpet weavers/artisans registered with the Handicrafts and Handloom Department for the Skill Up‑Gradation Training on Silk Carpet Weaving on Modern Looms. The training is sanctioned by the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India under the Scheme of Capacity Building in Textiles Sector (SAMARTH) for FY 2025‑26.

Program Details
- Duration: 2 months
- Timing: 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Stipend: Rs. 5,100 per program (released directly by Central Silk Board through DBT mode after successful assessment)
- Total Trainees: 320 artisans (16 batches of 20 each)
- Attendance: Aadhaar‑Enabled Biometric Attendance System
- Selection Process: Trade Test and Interview conducted by the Designated Committee
- Venue: Training centers established in carpet‑craft concentrated areas of the concerned districts
- Districts Covered: Srinagar, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag and Ganderbal
