Job summary

Walmart Global Tech India is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data solutions that translate complex business requirements into actionable insights. You will build and optimize data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform, Spark, and Airflow, enabling data-driven decision making across multiple domains.

You will contribute to data governance and strategy, ensuring high data quality, governance compliance, and reliable data access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years software/engineering experience; or 5+ years experience; or Master’s with 1+ year experience.
• 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, BI, or analytics.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement scalable data solutions that translate complex business requirements into actionable insights. This role requires collaboration across multiple business domains to support data-driven decision-making and deliver measurable value. What You'll Do

• Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions by leveraging advanced analytics and big data techniques.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures using cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and tools like Spark and Airflow.

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience in data engineering, including designing and developing scalable data pipelines and architectures.
• Proficiency with Big Data technologies such as Spark Core, PySpark, and Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery and Dataproc.
• Strong SQL programming skills and expertise in query optimization for efficient data processing.
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools to create logical and physical data models.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions aligned with strategic goals.
• Understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance in data management.
