Job summary

PwC is seeking a Senior SAP Consultant to lead Advisory SAP IS-OIL engagements in India. You will deliver consulting across SAP modules for refineries, focusing on IS-OIL, TD, and LIV, with responsibilities spanning design, configuration, integration, and training to optimise refinery operations.

The role requires deep SAP MM and IS-OIL knowledge, experience in end-to-end implementations, and the ability to collaborate with clients to achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP Functional Consultant with at least two full lifecycle end-to-end implementations in Oil & Gas.
• Core SAP MM configuration (Procurement, Inventory, Master Data, Split Valuation, LIV).
• Deep knowledge of SAP IS-OIL Downstream (TSW, HPM).
• Experience in TD, exchange agreements, and interfacing with external TAS systems.
• Ability to map interfaces and write RFC/RICEF specifications.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Trader's & Scheduler's Workbench components (pipelines, vessels, railcars, marine nominations).
• Manage Hydrocarbon Product Management features including density/temperature conversions and tank calibrations.
• Set up silo/tank management parameters for crude blending and storage.
• Design TD networks for bulk liquid and packed product routing.
• Build purchase requisitions, framework orders, and service POs for refinery operations.
• Lead end-to-end integration testing, UAT, and regression tests prior to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench components including pipelines, vessels, railcars, and marine nominations.

• Handle Hydrocarbon Product Management (HPM) features, including standard density/temperature volume conversions and tank dip calibrations.

• Set up physical silo and tank management parameters to accurately track crude blending and product storage.

• Design Transportation and Distribution (TD) networks for bulk liquid and packed product routing.

• Build buy/sell netting frameworks and exchange contracts for joint operations with external oil companies.

• Map interfaces connecting SAP to external Terminal Automation Systems (TAS) at truck loading racks and refineries.

• Build standard purchase requisitions, framework orders, and service purchase orders for refinery operations.

• Manage physical goods movements, physical inventory counting, and special stock types like subcontracting and consignment.

• Configure split valuation profiles to account for varying costs of crude oil grades and refined batches.

• Administer Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV) workflows to manage pricing variances, delivery tolerances, and invoice blocks.

• Standardize Material Master records, Vendor Master accounts, Service Masters, and Info Records for global procurement.

• Sync MM/IS-OIL operations tightly with SAP SD for order-to-cash and FI/CO for product costing and inventory ledger postings.

• Author detailed functional specification documents for custom ABAP programs, BAPIs, user exits, and custom oil workflows.

• Create data mapping templates to extract, transform, and load legacy refinery inventory and supplier master records.

• Lead end-to-end integration testing cycles, user acceptance testing (UAT), and system regression tests prior to deployment.

Mandatory skill sets

• Experience Profile: Hands-on experience as an SAP Functional Consultant with at least two full lifecycle end-to-end implementations in the Oil & Gas sector.

• Core SAP MM: Core expertise in SAP MM configuration, specifically in Procurement, Inventory Management, Master Data, Split Valuation, and Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV).

• Oil & Gas Modules: Deep technical knowledge of SAP IS-OIL Downstream components, including TSW (Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench) and HPM (Hydrocarbon Product Management).

• Logistics & Exchanges: Proven experience configuring TD (Transportation and Distribution) and setting up Exchange Agreements with external industry partners.

• System Integration: Experience mapping functional interfaces for integration with TAS (Terminal Automation Systems) and writing detailed RICEF functional specifications.

Preferred skill sets

• Next-Gen Platforms: Experience with SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain for Secondary Distribution (S4SCSD) or managing greenfield S/4HANA migrations.

• Credentials: Active professional SAP MM or IS-OIL Certification directly from SAP.

• Industry Domain: Deep domain expertise in downstream refinery operations, midstream pipeline transit, or bulk fuel logistics.

• Upstream Exposure: Familiarity with SAP Upstream components such as PRA (Production and Revenue Accounting) or JVA (Joint Venture Accounting).

• Technical Troubleshooting: Strong knowledge of technical debugging and ABAP code reading to troubleshoot complex calculation errors.
