Job summary

PwC is seeking an SAP MDG Techno-Functional Consultant with 5 to 8 years of strong configuration and development experience to support our manufacturing domain. The role bridges technical execution and business governance, leveraging MDG tools like ABAP OO, FPM, BRFplus, and workflows.

You will lead design, configuration, and end-to-end MDG implementations (MDG-M, MDG-S), customize RBWs, and integrate DRF/IDocs/ALE with S/4HANA. Hybrid collaboration with stakeholders is expected.

Job Summary-

We are seeking an SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Techno-Functional Consultant with 5 to 8 years of strong configuration and development experience to support our manufacturing domain. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and business governance processes. They will bring deep technical expertise in SAP MDG tools (ABAP OO, FPM, BRFplus, and Workflows) combined with a solid functional understanding of core manufacturing master data objects - specifically Material Master (MDG‑M) and Business Partner/Supplier (MDG‑S).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, configuration, and end-to-end implementation ofSAP MDG Central Governancesolutions, focusing onMDG-M (Material)andMDG-S (Supplier/Business Partner).
• Configure and customize dynamic approval workflows usingRule-Based Workflows (RBW), including complex user agent determination rules.
• Design and implement custom validations, derivations, and checks usingBRFplus (Business Rule Framework plus)and MDG BAdIs.
• Develop and customize user interfaces usingFloorplan Manager (FPM)andWeb Dynpro ABAP, ensuring custom fields are seamlessly integrated into standard MDG UIs.
• Configure theData Replication Framework (DRF)to replicate governed master data to downstream S/4HANA systems and external manufacturing applications viaSOA Services (Enterprise Services), ALE/IDocs, and RFCs.
• Develop custom technical solutions utilizingObject-Oriented ABAP (ABAP OO), standard MDG APIs, and enhancement frameworks.
• Collaborate with business data stewards, manufacturing experts, and supply chain analysts to translate business requirements (such as material classification, plant-specific views, and vendor compliance) into robust technical specifications.
• Support data migration, data mapping, profiling, and master data load activities using standard tools (such as SAP MDG Consolidation & Mass Processing).
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis on workflow bottlenecks, and resolve replication failures in production environments.

Mandatory skill sets:

• 5 to 8 yearsof hands-on techno-functional experience inSAP MDG.
• Strong technical mastery of SAP MDG development tools: ABAP OOand MDG API development.
• Floorplan Manager (FPM)and Web Dynpro ABAP.
• BRFplusconfiguration (for complex validation/derivation).

• Deep functional understanding of manufacturing-relevant domains: MDG-M: Material Master attributes, Material Types, Plant/Sales views, and Classification.

• Hands‑on configuration experience with theData Replication Framework (DRF)using IDocs, ALE, and Web Services (SOA).
• Excellent understanding of core S/4HANA master data structures and tables (e.g., MARA, MARC, LFA1, BUT000).
• Proven capability to operate in a hybrid techno-functional capacity, comfortable writing code and interacting directly with business stakeholders.

Preferred skill sets:

• Experience withSAP MDG Consolidation and Mass Processingscenarios.
• Familiarity with the integration of SAP MDG with downstream manufacturing execution systems (MES), PLM, or SAP Ariba/IBP.
• Exposure toSAP Fiorideployment and custom MDG tile creation.
• SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Master Data Governance.
• Prior experience in high-tech manufacturing, OEM, or supply-chain-focused business models.
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills to resolve complex workflow and replication issues.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical business partners.
• Ability to work independently as a subject matter expert and configuration owner.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong drive to work with cross‑functional SAP functional teams (MM, PP, SD, FI).
