Job summary

PwC is seeking an SAP MDG Techno-Functional Consultant with 5–8 years of strong configuration and development experience to support the manufacturing domain. The role bridges technical execution with business governance, leveraging SAP MDG tools and a solid knowledge of MDG-M and MDG-S.

The candidate will work on MDG design, RBW workflows, BRFplus validations, UI extensions with FPM and Web Dynpro ABAP, and DRF replication to S/4HANA and external systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and end-to-end MDG implementations for MDG-M and MDG-S.
• Configure dynamic approval workflows using RBW and complex user-determinant rules.
• Develop custom validations and derivations with BRFplus and MDG BAdIs.
• Create UI extensions with Floorplan Manager and Web Dynpro ABAP.
• Configure DRF to replicate master data to S/4HANA and external apps via SOA/IDocs/RFCs.
• Develop with ABAP OO using MDG APIs and enhancement frameworks.
• Collaborate with data stewards and business teams to translate requirements into specs.
• Support data migration, mapping, profiling, and master data loads with standard MDG tools.
• Troubleshoot workflow bottlenecks and replication issues in production.

Job Summary

We are seeking an SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Techno-Functional Consultant with 5 to 8 years of strong configuration and development experience to support our manufacturing domain. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and business governance processes. They will bring deep technical expertise in SAP MDG tools (ABAP OO, FPM, BRFplus, and Workflows) combined with a solid functional understanding of core manufacturing master data objects - specifically Material Master (MDG-M) and Business Partner/Supplier (MDG-S).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, configuration, and end-to-end implementation of SAP MDG Central Governance solutions, focusing on MDG-M (Material) and MDG-S (Supplier/Business Partner).
• Configure and customize dynamic approval workflows using Rule-Based Workflows (RBW), including complex user agent determination rules.
• Design and implement custom validations, derivations, and checks using BRFplus (Business Rule Framework plus) and MDG BAdIs.
• Develop and customize user interfaces using Floorplan Manager (FPM) and Web Dynpro ABAP, ensuring custom fields are seamlessly integrated into standard MDG UIs.
• Configure the Data Replication Framework (DRF) to replicate governed master data to downstream S/4HANA systems and external manufacturing applications via SOA Services (Enterprise Services), ALE/IDocs, and RFCs.
• Develop custom technical solutions utilizing Object-Oriented ABAP (ABAP OO), standard MDG APIs, and enhancement frameworks.
• Collaborate with business data stewards, manufacturing experts, and supply chain analysts to translate business requirements (such as material classification, plant-specific views, and vendor compliance) into robust technical specifications.
• Support data migration, data mapping, profiling, and master data load activities using standard tools (such as SAP MDG Consolidation & Mass Processing).
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis on workflow bottlenecks, and resolve replication failures in production environments.

Preferred skill sets

• Experience with SAP MDG Consolidation and Mass Processing scenarios.
• Familiarity with the integration of SAP MDG with downstream manufacturing execution systems (MES), PLM, or SAP Ariba/IBP.
• Exposure to SAP Fiori deployment and custom MDG tile creation.
• SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Master Data Governance.
• Prior experience in high‑tech manufacturing, OEM, or supply‑chain‑focused business models.
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills to resolve complex workflow and replication issues.
