Implementation Officer - Field Work in Delhi | Sahyog Care for You
Sahyog Care for You
Sahyog Care for You has worked across India for over 23 years on child education, child rescue and rehabilitation, women's empowerment and the welfare of armed forces families. Since 2017 it has supported CRPF, BSF and Delhi Police personnel, reaching 6,479 jawans, 16,307 family members, 1,143 veterans and 1,473 persons with disabilities. It runs IT training and skill development centres at 13 CRPF Group Centres. It also offers short training courses across India to help Army veterans and Veer Naris start second careers, in areas like drone piloting, solar panel installation, logistics and digital literacy.
Role
The Implementation Officer will run Sahyog's field projects from start to finish. This means finding the right sites, building trust with communities and officials, choosing vendors, buying goods and services, and making sure each project is finished on time, within budget and to a good standard. This is a hands-on role for someone who is just as comfortable in a village meeting as in a price negotiation or writing a report for a donor.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess project sites through field visits, needs assessments and baseline surveys, and recommend the best sites to management and donors.
- Build strong relationships with beneficiaries, community leaders, government offices, CSR donors and partners, and secure the approvals, MoUs and permissions each project needs.
- Plan each project in detail, including timelines, budgets, milestones, resources and risks, in line with donor requirements and organisational policies.
- Find, evaluate and select vendors and contractors by issuing RFQs and RFPs, comparing quotes and negotiating fair prices and delivery terms.
- Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to payment, following Sahyog's procurement policy and donor norms with a clear audit trail.
- Oversee daily work at project sites, carry out quality and safety checks, solve problems with field staff and vendors, and raise delays or cost overruns early.
- Hand over completed projects to communities or partner institutions, with training and documents where needed.
- Track spending against budget, prepare progress reports, utilisation certificates and impact stories, and support audits and FCRA and CSR compliance.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in social work, rural development or a related field, with a master's degree as an advantage.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in project management, programme implementation or procurement, ideally in an NGO, CSR or development setting.
- Proven experience in site assessment, vendor management and contract administration, with working knowledge of procurement procedures and budgeting.
- Strong planning, negotiation, report writing and documentation skills, and the confidence to work with everyone from community members to senior officials.
- Good command of MS Office and familiarity with MIS and project tracking tools.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Delhi, willing to travel often to project sites across India, and able to join immediately.
- Lead projects that directly support armed forces families, veterans, women and children across India.
- Gain broad experience across site planning, procurement, community work and donor reporting in one role.
- Work with a long-standing organisation that has more than two decades of field experience.
- Salary is negotiable based on experience.
