Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a Business Analytics Analyst in India to monitor, analyze, and improve fraud-related processes, with a focus on SAS, SQL, Python and digital fraud knowledge. You will translate data into actionable insights and collaborate across teams to strengthen policy and decision making.

The role emphasizes manual and automated rule development, model validation, and strong communication with risk and business partners to ensure compliance and effective risk controls.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years relevant experience in SAS, SQL, Python and have some understanding on Fraud domain.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to work with cross-functional partners and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of system & user functionalities of fraud engines like Actimize (RCM/Actone) , SAS Fraud Manager.
  • Understand fraud risk management and digital fraud.
  • Ensure seamless implementation of fraud rules and ML model updates with audit compliance.
  • Analyze SQL logic being adjusted and ensure 100% execution accuracy.
  • Develop rules and fraud strategies on SAS FM/Actimize and promote in Prod/test environments.
  • Collaborate with fraud strategy teams to validate rule performance and trends.
  • Hands-on SAS/SQL/Python and knowledge of fraud domain.
  • Gather operational data from cross-functional stakeholders to examine past performance.
  • Identify data patterns and provide insights for business decisions.
  • Recommend actions for future developments and policy enhancements.
  • Translate data into consumer insights to drive targeting and segmentation.
  • Continuously improve processes by evaluating new data sources and tools.
  • Work with internal and external partners on decision strategies.

Job description

The Business Analytics Analyst is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.

Responsibilities:

  • knowledge of system & user functionalities of various fraud orchestration engines such as Actimize (RCM/Actone) , SAS Fraud Manager
  • Good to have Business knowledge on Financial crime risk management and Digital fraud.
  • Ensure seamless implementation of fraud rule & various Traditional and Machine Learning models adds, deletes, and edits ensuring all procedures and audit requirements are followed.
  • Associate will be required to understand the logic (often in SQL) being adjusted and why the change is being made. Ensuring 100% execution accuracy.
  • Developing rules/Fraud Strategies on Fraud tool (SAS FM/Actimize) and Promoting the same on Prod and Prod test environment.
  • Collaborate with fraud strategy development teammates to provide feedback and performing validation on rule performance, trends and volumes.
  • Hands on working on SAS/SQl/Python and knowledge of Fraud domain and Cards& Payment is a plus
  • Gathers operational data from various cross functional stakeholders to examine past business performance
  • Identifies data patterns & trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc.
  • Recommends actions for future developments & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies
  • May be involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis
  • Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies, and communicate clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leaders all findings
  • Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities
  • Work closely with internal and external business partners in building, implementing, tracking and improving decision strategies
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
