IDP accelerated its Digital Transformation journey in 2016 with a major project to implement a suite of leading SaaS platforms. As a result, we have very few on-premises systems and we are taking full advantage of the flexibility of the cloud.

In 2019 IDP reassessed its approach to innovation and made the strategic decision to adopt modern software engineering approaches to accelerate the time to value of our innovations.

• An Event Driven Architecture – we are well advanced in moving our key integrations onto the PubSub pattern with fault tolerance and observability.
• Micro Services Architecture – Our build out of our MSA is underway as part of a major initiative. We have our first set of Micro-Services built and serving our customer facing products.
• AWS Serverless – We heavily utilize AWS Serverless features provisioned via IaC.
• Machine Learning – IDP has a highly skilled Chief Data Officer unit that is utilizing the EDA and other data to build advanced intelligence into our processes and outcomes. We already have some of these algorithms making their way into our landscape and driving outcomes.
• Micro Front-End Architecture – Angular components pulling content from our Headless CMS.
• We are confident that we have the right technology building blocks, we have fantastic business-driven initiatives, and real momentum in our technology agenda.

As Practice lead of Technology Platforms in collaboration with the Global technology organization, Enterprise architects, Heads of Engineering, engineering teams, you will be directly accountable for owning the planning, delivery, engineering, and operation of the technology underpinning Technology Platforms at IDP like ServiceNow / JIRA / Confluence/ cognito. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a view of the existing platform, showing deep technical abilities and expertise in consultative leadership, business strategy and governance. You will also drive the technology platform team to ensure standards are maintained, solutions are found to business outcomes which make use of the Out of the Box (OOTB) functionality. You will also keep on top of the day-to-day operations of the platform, such as advise on coding standards and upgrades.

You’ll Spend Time On The Following

• Developing and executing the technology platform strategy: You would be responsible for identifying and implementing/upgrading the technology platforms that align with the organization’s overall business objectives. You would develop and execute the technology platform roadmap, considering the current and future needs of the organization.
• Ensuring the availability and reliability of technology platforms: You would oversee the performance and uptime of the technology platforms, ensuring that they meet the organization’s availability and reliability standards. You would work closely with the IT operations team to ensure that the platforms are properly maintained and supported.
• Identifying and managing technology risks: You would be responsible for identifying and mitigating technology risks associated with the technology platforms. You would work with the information security team to ensure that the technology platforms meet the organization’s security standards.
• Developing and managing budgets: You would be responsible for managing the budget for the technology platform team. You would work closely with the finance team to develop budgets, monitor spending, and adjust plans as necessary.
• Collaborating with other cross-functional teams: You would work closely with other teams, including engineering, business enablement, marketing, and IDP global network, to ensure that the technology platforms support their needs. You would also collaborate with vendors and partners to identify opportunities to improve the technology platforms.
• Staying up to date with emerging technology trends: You would stay current with emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the organization’s technology platforms. You would make recommendations to senior management regarding the adoption of new technologies.
• Managing the technology platform team: You would lead a team of technology platform experts and provide them with direction, coaching, and mentoring. You would also be responsible for hiring new team members and building a high-performing team culture.

Requirements

• Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a track record of successfully managing complex technology platforms and teams.
• Technical skills: A deep understanding of the latest technology trends and developments, as well as expertise in key technologies such as cloud computing, database management, and software development with strong knowledge on Security, Risk assessment, GDPR and Compliance.
• Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor technical teams to achieve strategic goals, and to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking: The ability to develop and execute a long-term technology strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy of the company.
• Business acumen: Strong business and financial acumen to understand how technology can drive business growth and profitability.
• Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
