About the Engagement

We are building a delivery team for a Data Catalog and Governance implementation for a leading global biotechnology / life sciences client. The engagement involves implementing Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) — specifically the Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) service — as the enterprise Data Catalog platform, integrated with the client's existing Databricks data platform. The solution will support cataloging, metadata management, business glossary, stewardship, governance, and lineage across Commercial and Medical Affairs data domains, including select external third-party data sources.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for the IDMC/CDGC implementation, including integration design with the client's Databricks platform (and Unity Catalog, where applicable).
• Design the metadata onboarding framework — scanner/connection architecture, ingestion patterns, and technical + business lineage design across internal and external data sources.
• Define the security and role-based access control (RBAC) model for the catalog, aligned to the client's governance and compliance requirements.
• Design the data governance operating model — stewardship workflows, data ownership framework, business glossary structure, and approval/certification workflows within CDGC.
• Lead solution design workshops with client stakeholders (Data Governance leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Compliance) and produce solution architecture and technical design documentation.
• Guide and review the work of Informatica developers/configuration engineers; ensure adherence to Informatica and client architectural standards.
• Support testing strategy, UAT, deployment/cutover planning, and production go-live activities.
• Support proposal, estimation, and client presentation activities as needed (pre-sales support during active pursuits).
• Act as the primary technical point of contact in project governance forums — status meetings, architecture/security reviews, and steering committee updates.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC, specifically Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC); prior experience with legacy Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and/or Axon Data Governance is a plus.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering at least 1-2 full life-cycle Data Catalog / Data Governance implementations (cloud-native or hybrid).
• Working knowledge of Databricks (Unity Catalog, metadata/lineage exposure) and experience integrating third-party catalog tools with Databricks.
• Strong understanding of metadata management, business glossary design, data lineage (technical and business), and stewardship/governance workflow design.
• Experience designing RBAC and security models for enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with regulated-industry data governance considerations (e.g., life sciences, healthcare, BFSI) is strongly preferred.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills; comfortable leading architecture discussions directly with client stakeholders.
• Experience working in a blended onshore/offshore delivery model with U.S. Eastern Time overlap.
