Job summary

Tekskills in Bangalore (WFO) is seeking an IBM Infosphere DataStage Developer to design and build ETL jobs using DataStage, focusing on parallel jobs, sequences, and routines.

You will apply strong SQL skills across Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server and DB2, plus UNIX shell scripting, data cleansing, error handling and performance tuning to ensure reliable data pipelines and timely production support.

Qualifications

• Extensive work with DataStage parallel jobs, sequences and routines.
• Strong SQL skills with Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.
• Unix shell scripting and ETL workflow optimization.
• Experience in data cleansing, error handling and logging.
• Ability to perform unit/integration testing and support UAT.
• Maintain design docs, mappings and job specs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain DataStage ETL jobs and workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize DataStage performance to meet SLAs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and mappings.
• Assist with DataStage migrations and platform upgrades to cloud.
• Provide production support and issue resolution with stakeholders.

Job Description:

• Job Description for DataStage Worked extensively in parallel jobs, sequences and preferably in routines.
• Good conceptual knowledge on data- warehouse and various methodologies. Strong SQL database skills in Teradata and other databases like Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 etc.
• Working knowledge in UNIX shell scripting. Implement data cleansing, error handling, logging, and performance tuning techniques in ETL workflows. Schedule, monitor, and support DataStage jobs till production activities.
• Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and UAT support. Troubleshoot data and performance issues, ensuring SLAs are met.
• Maintain technical documentation, mapping documents, and job design specifications.
• Support migration and upgrade projects (DataStage version upgrades, platform migrations to cloud, etc.)
• Good communication and presentation skills.
