Your Role

Do you enjoy understanding corporate’s creditworthiness? Are you organized with an eye for detail? Are you willing to learn dynamics of different sectors/industries? If yes, we’re looking for someone like that to support its Portfolio Monitoring function in India. Analysts will manage an assigned portfolio and contribute to key portfolio management deliverables. Primary responsibilities include:

• analyzing the ongoing creditworthiness of businesses across traditional corporate industries, including consumer & retail, industrials, technology-communications, and healthcare.
• conducting ongoing monitoring by reviewing counterparty financial statements to extract key data for financial model updates.
• maintaining review templates, including rating tools, credit attributes, and credit quality assessments (strengths & weaknesses) for periodic counterparty evaluations.
• preparing weekly reporting dashboards and providing updates on recent developments.
• supporting the Quality Assurance (QA) Check for Pod Lead deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• monitoring credits with a high degree of complexity, requiring attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
• leveraging financial and mathematical modeling to support portfolio reviews and risk assessments.
• coordinating review schedules and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• preparing regular and ad-hoc portfolio management reports to support decision-making.
• collaborating with colleagues of varying seniority and geographic locations to ensure seamless communication and execution of responsibilities.

Your Team

The Global Credit Risk Control (“CRC”) partners with key stakeholders across the Bank to meet business demands and adapt to an evolving regulatory environment. The team is responsible for establishing internal credit ratings and counterparty limits for the portfolio and managing the ongoing monitoring of traded product and loan exposure.

The CRC team are experts in monitoring a portfolio of loans and exposures, with detailed knowledge of portfolio risks, industry developments, and business-specific factors. The team engages in extensive due diligence during the monitoring process to challenge recommendations and ensure transactions are consistent with UBS's risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Your Expertise

Required skills include:

• financial Statements Analysis: The ability to understand and interpret financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to assess a company's financial health & creditworthiness and to extract key data for financial model updates.
• quantitative Analysis & Financial Modeling: Proficiently using financial ratios, statistics, and modeling tools to assess risk, calculate creditworthiness, and forecast potential defaults.
• credit Risk Assessment Techniques: Understanding and applying methods like credit scoring.
• industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific industry the borrower operates in, including market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes, is crucial for accurate risk assessment.

• strong background in credit risk and / or accounting
• excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presence and ability to convey complex messages to varying audiences
• minimum of a bachelor's degree; MBA and/or CFA a plus
