Job summary

Growth For Impact is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Manager to lead audits, investigations, and training across the organization in Chennai. You will drive compliance with ISO 45001/14001, develop robust safety programs, and analyze performance data to guide management decisions.

The role requires 13–19 years of HSE leadership in multinational or industrial settings, with strong communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills. A lead auditor certification is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• 13–19 years of experience in HSE management systems development and implementation.
• Lead auditor certification or strong ISO 45001/14001 knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE audits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess HSE compliance and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead investigation of HSE incidents, near misses, and non-conformities; determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels.
• Monitor and analyze HSE performance data; prepare reports and present findings to management.

• Support preparation for and participation in external HSE audits and certifications.

Job description

ROLE

• Lead the investigation of HSE incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Monitor and analyze HSE performance data, preparing reports and presenting findings to management.
• Stay abreast of changes in HSE legislation, regulations, and industry standards, advising on necessary adjustments to management systems.
• Manage and update HSE documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and emergency plans.
• Support the preparation for and participation in external HSE audits and certifications.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 13-19 years of experience in HSE management systems development and implementation, preferably within a multinational or industrial environment.
• Proven experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards; lead auditor certification is a significant advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE audits.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong presentation and training delivery skills.
