Job summary

Mondeléz International in India seeking an experienced HSE Leader to drive health, safety and environmental programs at the plant. You will lead regulatory compliance, risk assessments and incident investigations, ensuring zero-harm objectives and alignment with Mondelez global standards.

The role requires ISO/HSE certifications, training delivery, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to reduce hazards, implement CAPAs and sustain safe operations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation: B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a Tier 1/2 institute.
  • Post-Graduation: M.Tech in Industrial Safety/HSE from premier institute.
  • Experience in Manufacturing/CPG or Food Industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of HSE programs and zero-incident culture.
  • Coordinate regulatory compliance and safety investigations.

That means you will ensure that facilities provided are well maintained, regulation/procedure are in place and implemented, hazards/aspects assessments are conducted, the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down.

How you will contribute

You will: Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards

What you need to know about this position:

HSE Management & Compliances: Develop, implement, and maintain robust HSE management systems aligned with international and local statutory regulations and implementing Mondelez global standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements (Factories Act, PESO, CPCB/SPCB, NBC, IS standards ) Track and ensure timely closure of all legal compliances and statutory reporting Risk Assessments/Studies Assessments & Incident Management: Lead Risk Management, HAZOP and other process safety relevant studies Conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses, drive CAPA implementation Develop and maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system Implement Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs Safety Programs & Training: Design and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for employees and contractors (LOTOTO, confined space, work at height, hot work, electrical safety, machine safety, fire safety and Process Safety) Conduct safety inductions for new joiners and visitors Lead safety campaigns and awareness programs across the site. Machine & Process Safety: Implement machine safety systems per ISO and EN standards Conduct machine safety risk assessments and ensure appropriate safeguards. Oversee safe commissioning of new equipment and processes Audits & Continuous Improvement: Plan and conduct internal HSE audits, support external and corporate audits Monitor and report HSE KPIs and KAIs; maintain safety dashboards and communication boards Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve Zero Harm culture Benchmark LTIFR and other metrics, implement data-driven improvement programs Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain Emergency Preparedness & Response Plans Conduct regular mock drills , record findings and implement CAPA Maintain fire safety systems (hydrants, extinguishers, smoke detectors, sprinklers) Maintain safety equipment inventory Environmental and Sustainability : Monitor and manage environmental aspects – waste management, emissions, effluent compliance Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting Maintain site environmental programs and permits Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and corporate HSE teams Lead monthly HSE meetings, share best practices and learnings Provide HSE expertise for new projects and change management activities Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors

Key Competencies & Skills

Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, national and international. Proficiency in HSE digital tools (Enablon, Gensuite, SAP HSE or equivalent) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to influence at all levels Leadership and team management capabilities Contractor safety management experience Knowledge of AI-based safety applications is a plus
